The Never Ending Stream Of Remakes!

neverendingstory.jpg

Happy news for all you kiddies from the '80s.

Warner Bros and the Kennedy/Marshall Co. are in talks to make another rendition of The Never Ending Story!

The studio recently acquired the rights to the franchise, so there's a good chance of a remake coming soon.

The new flick would put a modern twist on the classic tale.

As for the original film, it came out in 1984, followed by a sequel in 1990 and a third flick in 1996. So is a fourth version really necessary?

What do U think of the possible remake?

Would U go watch?

Maybe this time they are gonna stick with the book. Don't get me wrong, the original is beautiful but the book is another thing.

    2. 102

I remember loving this film as a child, be interesting to see a remake.

    3. 103

Ahh, I used to love The Never Ending Story films. Falkor always scared the crap out of me though. Scary looking thing.

Would I watch a remake? I doubt it. Well, maybe I would. Years down the line when it gets shown on TV… I wouldn't pay to watch it though.

I'm sick of all these remakes lately. Why bother? They're hardly ever better than the original.

    4. 104

O SHIT… I always thought this movie was CREEPY… but love it and loving it

    5. 105

      ugh no updating of this!
They're just going to CGI the shit out of it.

    6. 106

I used to think it was possible to make a good remake if you had the right director. After the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Halloween" remakes, I've changed my mind. STOP THE REMAKES OF GREAT MOVIES AND STOP GOING TO WATCH THEM!!!! Please? It is pointless. It NEVER works.

The only exception was the Dawn of the Dead remake. That actually wasn't so bad.

    7. 107

NO. NO NO NO NO NO!

    8. 108

THIS DEFINATELY PUTS A NEW MEANING TO "THE NEVERENDING STORY"

    9. 109

well it is the NeverEnding story….so i suppose it can never end.

    10. 110

HELL YEAH I LOVE THIS MOVIE! I'VE ACTUALLY SAID THEY SHOULD REMAKE THIS SO EXCITED ;)

    11. 111

Too bad Jonathan Brandis is no longer living.
He could have probably had a role in it.
      This remake better not disappoint.

    12. 112

I'm excited to see this one remade. I think the best way they can do this is to take the Friday 13th approach (redoing the first three in one). There was a lot of stuff in the original that was pure filler.

    13. 113

Didn't the late Jonathan Brandis star in the sequel?

    14. 114

      no 1984 ONLY and 1990

    15. 115

For the love of everything holy can Americans not come up with anything original??? I am so tired of this remake crap! They are never as good as the original and if anything just piss me off that they dared to redo a classic! LEAVE IT ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    16. 116

OMFG LOvin it !!!! 84 yeesh that is the year I was Born

    17. 117

Remaking this movie is like raping my childhood. QUIT IT WITH THE REMAKES!

    18. 118

They don't need to do this at all, for some odd reason, this one has angered me more than all the rest.

    19. 119

FUCK no, hated it when I was little.. would hate it even more now! UGH!!!!!!!

    20. 120

      RIDICULOUS!!!!!

    21. 121

I will stand in line for first day tickets if they remake this movie. But I know in my heart it will never be as good as the first.

    22. 122

It was my favorite movie growing up!!! It might not be as good with a modern twist, but I'm definitely going to watch it!
And Shut the fuck up, Pierrot.

    23. 123

      YESSSS

    24. 124

Re: LitlLuvBug – agreed! nothing will ever top the first 2 in my book. But seeing the remake should be interesting.

    25. 125

Hellz YeahZ i'll go see it duh!!

    26. 126

The Never Ending story/movie is so badass I'm down for any remake.

    27. 127

      128

If they remake it,it better be good. This is one of my favorite movies from childhood.

    29. 129

I would see in. I like Fantasy movies. There interesting

    30. 130

      Yeah I'll watch it…just because

    31. 131

      noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! Never ending stoooreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEE!!

    32. 132

The orinial was basically the worst eye and ear murdering piece of shit ever made. How could it be any worse?

    33. 133

      Re: XjadorevintageO

Awesome!!! I'm so glad I'm not the only one. All the other little kiddies seemed to love it and I ended up being forced to watch it over and over and over…

It really was torture to me as a kid. I hated it. It is like, one of the most unpleasant memories of childhood for me!!!!!

    34. 134

Okay, so if they do it the right way…the right way being not casting the kids from the new 90210, it could work. I mean, there were 3, none of the other 2 were as good as the first, it will always be THE Classic, no matter what they do with a new. No one can take away the never ending magic hahahaha

    35. 135

      This is wrong

    36. 136

I can't believe they're going to remake this movie. Sure it's a bit outdated now in the special effects department but I don't see them lining up to re-make E.T. anytime soon. Frankly I don't see how they're going to get anyone to do this movie.
They better not remake The Neverending Story II. No one can compare with Jonathan Brandis.

    37. 137

YES YES YES PLEEEEEASE love this movie!!!!!!!!
