As we mentioned previously, the new Friday the 13th flick did pretty well.
You know what that means, right???
Another sequel!
New Line and production company Platinum Dunes are again considering a new Friday the 13th. The revamped film's writers, Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, are said to already be beginning to work on a script for the new flick.
However, the new movie would have a different feel to it. And although no confirmation has been officially given about the movie actually going into production, yet insiders say it looks as if it might be made and release by the end of 2010.
New Line and Platinum Dunes are also working together on another franchise rip off with A Nightmare on Elm Street, which will start shooting in two months.

I remember seeing the Friday, Freddie & Halloween movies when they were originally released, and can't believe creativity has dimished to a level where these movies need to be re-made today. Christ, has original thinking died entirely?

There are three Friday the 13th's on the calendar this year in '09 which is kinda weird. They'll probably rush and get this crappy movie out by November 13th.
Goor lord, why? This current remake was simply awful. It's not even a functionally watchable splatter film - the killings are weak, and they rush by so fast you barely get to see anything. A complete and utter waste of time. It maes the original look like a towering achievement in horror, suspense and novelty.

I can't say as I am happy about this. I hate that Hollywood has to ruin the classic movies and these are movies that have been around for 20 years. Pick another decade Hollywood. I'm so sick of seeing remakes of movies that I've already seen.

they have to make 1 more so they will have 13 movies, including the first 10, Freddy vs Jason and these 2 new ones. They said from the beginning they wanted 13 movies. they should stop after the next though. Like Halloween, they said they wanted 10 or 13 and with the one coming out later this year, it will be 10.
