After remembering U2 is losing their cultural relevance faster than ever, Bono quickly apologized for a jab he made at Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin on BBC Radio!
Bono was on the Beeb's Radio 1 promoting U2's new shiteous album when he let his true feelings fly about Mr. GOOP himself!
"I think he's that good a melodist, but he's a wanker… He's obviously a completely dysfunctional character and a cretin," said Bono on the BBC early Friday morning.

yeah, i'm pretty sure bono wasn't joking as well. i'm not a MASSIVE fan of either group, but I don't dislike them either. I'm pretty sure Bono feels a little burned that Coldplay are doing so well while U2's new album hasn't generated much praise. I once heard Bono say he thought that U2 was almost as successful/great as the Beatles and I was like "you've gotta be joking."

I agree with Miamibong. Perez's credibility, especially in reference to judging anyone's talent or cultural relevance, is laughable. Chris Martin might be a wanker to him but he's really brought it this past year. I'm sure Chris takes Bono's comments as a compliment. As a fan of them both U2 and Coldplay I have been greatly disappointed in U2's music.

Watch some Coldplay performances side by side with some U2 performances….Chris is trying so hard to be Bono Jr. I also believe I remember an interview with Chris saying that he was a massive U2 fan and has pretty much their entire catalogue memorized front to back–and his wife backed that up. I love both Bono and Chris dearly, however. Funnier yet, I do believe I've also read somewhere that they are friends. So, Bono is just probably just publicly taking the piss out of Chris.
