Brazilliant!

Emma Watson could be attending an Ivy League!!!

The Harry Potter star revealed on her blog that she's been accepted to one of the top schools in America - Yale!!

As well as visiting the Yale campus in New Haven, Connecticut last fall, Hermione also toured Brown University and Harvard.

Although Watson hasn't revealed her final decision or other acceptances, we have no doubt she will choose the school that she finds the best fit!

We're so proud of you, girl!!

We know quite a few Hollywood starlets who could stand to learn a thing or two from Miss Watson!

    9. 9

geezus her waist looks toothpick thin in this dress, but…I think I like it, I think she's the worst actor of the three though

    10. 10

I respect her. She's smart and talented. Good for her = ]

    11. 11

She has a higher IQ than yours, Paris Hiltons, Britneys and Miley Cyrus combined.

Good for her. Kudos to her parents too, for not letting her go the way of Lindsay IM A FUCKING JOKE NOW Lohan. Its really that easy, just be a parent.

    13. 13

the fact that she is rich and famous also helps her acceptance… there are many people who get into harvard and yale and mit, etc because they have money. if you make a large enough "donation" they have to let you in… for god's sake, george bush went to yale!!! and we all know he is dumb as a doornail

    14. 14

      love her! how refreshing

    15. 15

Emma Watson is my role model.

    16. 16

      yay for her

    17. 17

thats what i like to see…there is some stars out there that should look up to her, some of them didn't even finish high school.

    18. 18

      Re: AgentSmith

Emma has received all A's on her GCSE examinations.

    19. 19

THIS is a good role model in the public eye.

      Congrats Emma!

    20. 20

Did she pay her way in?

Because with her filming schedule, there's no way she did it on an academic basis

    21. 21

I love her outfit! Smarty Pants!

    22. 22

      damn good for her!

    23. 23

      i love harry potter

    24. 24

AWESOMENESS…I know where ever she ends up going she will be an exemplary student!

    25. 25

I hope she isnt stalked by the paps, she is a private citizen.

GREAT FOR HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love when people do this…she may be an actress forever, but maybe she'll stop or whatever and she will have options or at least went for the experience whic is great too! not everyone HAS to study, some people are succesful due to hard work, others due to hard work studying, but everyone should go thrugh university/college experiences!

Re: BBBoricua loves Angels & Demons… – Hey girl!just got back. The modem went out on my laptop so I need to replace the whole circuit board. The price of the circuit board is almost the price of the laptop. So I'll just buy a new one when I find the one i need .So how u been?Cold!!!!!!

    29. 29

      thatss cuteee lol

    30. 30

I love her. She's so classy compared to the celeb skanks the same age we have running around the US.

BTW - child stars often go to ivy league schools, and it's not just because they buy their way in. On set, they are privately tutored and end up more advanced than the average student.

      Way to go Emma!

    31. 31

Re: the last star – Hey, you! You sound kinda different! Hmmmmm :)
Sorry to hear about your computer. Sometimes replacing it makes more sense than repairing the thing.
I hope your father is completely OK by now.

    32. 32

Every time I see a picture of her, she looks cute, put together and age appropriate. The only gossip "stories" I ever see are about her pursuing higher education. I realize she's not very productive for a gossip columnist, but sometimes I'd like to see more of these types of people publicized. It would be nice to show teenagers that you don't have to shave your head and puke in public to get attention.

      bla bla

    36. 36

love her, but that coffee filter she's wearing is tragic (plus she looks slightly canklelicious in this pic)

Re: BBBoricua loves Angels & Demons… – He's out the hospital and back at home, recovering. It just sucks to be back!!Thanks for asking!!

    38. 38

Re: the last star – Well, I'm glad you are back! :)

    39. 39

Wow I'm so proud of her!
That's the kind of role-model I love to look up to!
      Unlike *cough*miley cyrus*cough*
Emma is smart and has acting chops. I love her [:

    40. 40

That's wonderful. I love Emma Watson, and she is incredibly smart. But her status and money were probably the deciding factors in her acceptance.

      41

I don't know how true this is, but my friend who is attending St. Thomas University in St. Paul, MN, said that she will be going there in the fall. More to come on this.

    42. 42

She seems like a smart young lady. I love to hear about the good girls doing good things!

    43. 43

I always found it strange that pretty much every actor that goes to college is a complete genius… hmmm.

    44. 44

      yeah, yeah. who cares.
see ya in 2 or 4 years when you realize how stupid you were. she should continue her career and read alot. knowledge is power and you don't need to go to college to get it.

    45. 45

Re: BBBoricua loves Angels & Demons… – Why thank you!! and i missed u2!!!

      46

she's a smart girl but being Emma Watson, a famous actress helps with her application…
there are other people out there who are smart, have pages of extra-curricular activities, and other great talents that don't make it into an ivy league school

    47. 47

      FINALLY!
      A celebrity with a degree!

    48. 48

      nice!

    49. 49

And the fact that she is famous had nothing to do with her getting admitted into Yale, right? Lindsay Lohan can get into Yale too, if she were to make a "donation" and give them the right to brag about her enrollment.

    50. 50

I'll bet 95 percent of American girls would choose a role in a movie (even a bad movie) over acceptance into an Ivy League School. It the American way! Fame + Money = Happiness!!! Who cares if you can't form compound sentences or know the difference between Taylor Swift and Jonathan Swift! The dumbing of America - it's in full force! Pray for us all.

    51. 51

ivys are really full of stuck up smart guys with zero life experience. I hated columbia sooo much and that is one of the most down to earth ivy they say.
Good for her but dont have really high expectation on the fellow students.

    52. 52

omg i so wish i was in college next year. she is rich, pretty and smart, *SO JEALOUS*

    53. 53

I am an avid HP fan (look at my name thing) yet even I have to recognize that she is a horrible actress. She is over dramatic in the movies (huffin' and puffin') and everytime she talks, her eyebrows dance.

      She is very pretty though.

    54. 54

Re: lindseyXann – not only did she get all a*s in her gcses, she got 4 a's in her a levels! i definatly cant get those grades and i dont have the stress of movies!!!

    55. 55

      gr8 gown

    56. 56

Stuuupid…..shes probably dumb as shit, she can basically get into any school just because she's rich and famous

    57. 57

      Re: AgentSmith – amen

    58. 58

What a shock, a rich famous actress gets accepted to an Ivy League. It's really not that impressive. She got in from connections/career over smarts. Unfair.

    59. 59

This is so awesome, good for her……brains and beauty! A lot of famous people are too stupid to pursue and education and remain forever clueless. They are blind to the fact that a good education will take then a lot further than their whoring and stupidity. It makes me sick that we as a society, look up to and support such dumb fucks!!!

Some of you posters should check your facts before you start running your mouth about how Emma Watson paid her way into American universities. She has fantastic grades and she is a credit to her parents' guidance. I don't see the same kind of animosity towards Natalie Portman. Both ladies are great role models for girls who think their GPA is irrelevant (or their dignity, for that matter).
I wonder, though if anyone knows why she isn't going to a university in the UK? There are many prestigious universities that would be closer to home, as well as for filming HP.

Re: TheNoMannn – bitter? sounds like it. don't whine if you didn't put in the time (studying, that is).

    62. 62

Jodie Foster, Brooke Shields and Natalie Portman all attended an Ivy League School. Smart girl!

    63. 63

I love smart people. Good for her .. I really respect her.

    64. 64

celebs get a lot of leeway with these schools…you know she woulda been somewhere like nyu without her status…and the olsen twins woulda gotten into like their local community college without their status. just sayin it like it is.

    65. 65

oxford and cambridge not good enough for her?

    66. 66

yay I love her! Good for her :D

    67. 67

      PLEASE GO TO HARVARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    68. 68

      aww cool

    69. 69

Congrats Emma!!! I've read a couple of her blogs and she really studied her ass off to get a top score on her exams. Good for you! I wish you the best!

She makes all of the young celebrity ass monkeys look like pond scum. This will hopefully influence the future of Hollywood. Smart, educated and talented women, pushing cheap, druggie, petulant and self obsessed tarts out of the radar. There is a place for slutty girls; its called PORN.

    71. 71

      haha how hermione of her!

    72. 72

It's not that hard to get into an Ivy League with a string of successful acting gigs on your application. A preview of what she puts as Extracurriculars on her app: I have a part-time job as an actress for the Harry Potter series, one of the most famous and successful movie series of all time! I have so much fun and I've learned so much; dedication, perseverance, blahbalhbhalhalh!!!!

And all of you saying she's such a smarty pants and a goody goody and all that, you've got it allll wrong. Just because the American tabloids don't know squat about British actors doesn't mean Emma's a perfect angel. There's plenty of photos of her drinking and partying and smoking with a whole bunch of guys.

Re: littlelisa – And? Nothing wrong with enjoying yourself when you're young. Who among us hasn't had alcohol when underage, and hasn't talked it up with the boys? It demonstrates her normality, which is as refreshing as her good decisions. Personally, I like the smart girls who are able to socialize like normal human beings.
As for her extra-curriculars being ONLY acting - so? How is that less of a genuine extra-curricular activity than playing soccer or hockey in a league? It's not. Look, if you want to be nasty to anyone for accepting her into these schools, be nasty to the admissions bureaucracy. She's just doing her thing, so good for her. If I was in the same position, I'd be putting my role as Hermione Granger on my curriculum vitae as well.
I don't think Emma Watson is the greatest actress or anything, but people need to give credit where credit is due. She's a teenager with high aspirations - how anyone can be anything but happy that there are role models like this around, I don't know.

      Re: fiona – Absolutely right.

    75. 75

Wow thats awesome… I absolutely love that girl… she is a good role model to younger girls

    76. 76

go to harvard so we can hang out Emma! haha…ha

    77. 77

Woooow. she's soo pretty and smart too.

    78. 78

      i hate hermione
      emma's okay
she annoys me a little bit but its good she's going to a good college
      she's really smart

    79. 79

WOW. pretty, smart, and a child actor. what a rare find in the entertainment industry!

    80. 80

      this was probably her interview:

Interviewer: why should we accept you into Yale?
      EW: Well… I'm Hermione Granger.
      Interviewer: Well then, you're in!
      EW: Occulus Reparo!
Publicist: Emma, you already got in, drop the bit.

    81. 81

Re: ps – I didn't say that being an actress was her only extracurricular activity. I think you've gotten my point wrong. My point is that it's much easier for successful actors/actresses, celebrities to get into an ivy league REGARDLESS of whether they have the intelligence or not. Mary Kate & Ashley in NYU? Oh, please. Without their fame they wouldn't even get into their local state university.

    82. 82

I like the girl. I think she's adorable and seems to have a good head on her shoulders. She may very well deserve to be accepted. But she may not. I absolutely HATE that any starlette with a good rep and the ability to form a coherent sentence has the Ivy League schools falling all over themselves to let her in. The girl is as much a trophy to the school as the school's diploma is to the girl.

Yes, I am an embittered Ivy school waitlisted/reject. Doesn't make anything I've said less true.

    83. 83

Re: ayslin – Though, that said, I would totally take advantage of it if I were her, too.

The difference between acting and playing a sport is the level at which it's played. Act on a community theater stage, play on a so-so varsity team, and the Ivy schools don't give a crap - but do something that get's your famous and it's a whole other story. I knew a guy who rowed on an internationally recognized crew team. He didn't have stellar grades or test scores, but he could ROW. His Yale recruiter told him to get his SAT up to a 1200 (old SAT scores) and he was in. He did, and he was. He led his crew team to international victories, Yale was recognized and gained even more prestige. It's how it works.

It's got relatively little to do with being a "well-rounded" student. Most who apply are fairly well rounded, because they know that's their only shot. These schools are looking for ways to increase their long list of accomplished alum, and adding Hermione Granger to the list ain't too shabby.

    84. 84

Awww!!! How very Hermione of her!! So amazing! I love her so much

    85. 85

whoa! a youngster NOT along the lines of our very own American A students, role models such as Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Simpson & of course non other than Britney Spears. GASP*

    86. 86

i think shes gonna read literature there and so am i in like 3 years so does that mean shes my schoolmate?

    87. 87

She's doing it for the publicity, she'll probably drop out after about three weeks. Also, they're probably only accepting her ’cause she's famous. They're probably getting a new library or something too.

    88. 88

      yayyy! i love her

    89. 89

Wonder why she's choosing an American school instead of British school. She's get a better education with a British one, that's for sure!!!!

    90. 90

Yay! I adore her!! I can't wait for HBP in June!

    91. 91

      Good for her!!!!!!!
Just like Nathalie Portman and Julia Stiles. We need more actresses like her.

    92. 92

Good for her! Partial to Yale here….light years ahead of the stoner Kristen.

    93. 93

Good for her! She's going to get the college experience just like every other girl her age, and she'll probably be better for it.

    94. 94

Yayy, a child star who actually has brains…

    95. 95

umm is it bcuz she has brains or money?

    96. 96

      love her!

    97. 97

good for her. it's refreshing to see that she's continuing her education, unlike almost every other celeb out there. congrats!

    98. 98

You are proud of her??? Mmmm why??? Did you contributed in any form to her education and her smartiness??? I don't think soooooo… I am pretty sure that staying away from your lame site improved her IQ like 100%… she is a very talented girl and obviously a very smart one… hopefully she will make the right choice and learn to share her time between Hollywood and school!
      Congrats Hermione!!!

    99. 99

Can't wait to see her cute little ass around town!
