Father Of Slumdog Millionaire Star Is Cruel And Ungrateful!
The father of one of the breakout stars from Slumdog Millionaire is attempting to squeeze more money out of Slumdog director Danny Boyle!
Azharuddin Ismail, who played Salim in the Oscar winning pic was initially paid $1,000 dollars during the filming of Slumdog and $25,000 dollars have supposedly been placed in a trust that Ismail will have access to once he turns 18.
Boyle also supplies the 10 year old boy with a $30 dollar a week allowance and has promised to purchase his family a new home out of the slums for $30,000 dollars!
That's not nearly enough for Ismail's father, Mohammed!!

The money-grubbing father is demanding the money ASAP, telling reporters, "My son has taken on the world and wom. I am so proud of him but I want more money. I want the money now, it is of no use later. Mr. Boyle should take care of my son."
Mohammed was photographed beating his son last week after Ismail begged to rest his jet-lagged body upon returning from the Oscar ceremonies in Los Angeles!

I hope Boyle ends up paying out the nose. $56,000 for an Academy Award winning performance is a pathetic salary. It's just another example of outsourcing workers (actors) to India and other countries to save a buck. In this case, it's millions of bucks. Any more money paid out should have a stipulation for at least half of it to go into the trust account.
The pics are out there of the kid after the father beat him about the face and made his lip bleed. I don't know about the money issue but it was sad to see the poor kid suffering….I guess that's how it's done in India but it doesn't make it right.

Why do they always have to multiply the average cab fare five times than what the actual fare is. And don't think for a minute that this is an isolated incident. It seems more like they are the only isolated group who are doing this bullshit..
Once I was going home and I was carrying 2 shopping bags from the Queens Mall. An Indian driver asked me if I needed a cab and I said "yes." So, I asked him how much would he charge me to get home which is about .8 mile, it is not even a mile away and he replied with a straight face, "$20.00." I can't help but burst into laughter and he got so offended asking me why so I just walked away from him still laughing. Finally, a cab driven by a Black African guy that came my way and when he said $4.00. I got into the cab and I paid him $8.00 just for being so honest. The actual cost of my ride is $5.00 but the guy deserved the tip.

This is the trouble already caused by that seemingly 'small' sum of money, which no doubt, in the poorer parts of India is a large amount of money. Imagine if they paid him more - it's a fine line. The payment for this child has clearly been thought out, if the family suddenly came into vast sums of money it would likely be mis-managed and frittered away, instead they are building the child a better life, by purchasing a home, giving a weekly allowance (small by our standards, but again, reasonable weekly wage for there) and then there is a little lump of money for the kid when he gets older - which his money grub hungry Father would spend on crap if he got his hands on it.
I think the movie people are being very cautious and doing the right thing.
