China Won't Let Oasis Play

Oops!
China has decided to ban Oasis from performing in the country, causing the band to drop two shows scheduled for April.
After learning that Oasis member Noel Gallagher appeared at a "Free Tibet" benefit concert in the United States more than 10 years ago, the Chinese government deemed that the band are … "unsuitable to perform to their fans in the Chinese Republic."
Last year Bjork caused some controversy when she shouted "Tibet!" at a concert, causing the government to tighten its performance license regulations.
In response Oasis issued a statement saying, "Oasis are extremely disappointed that they are now being prevented from undertaking their planned tour of mainland China and hope that the powers that be within China will reconsider their decision and allow the band to perform."

In my opinion, China is doing their people a favor!
Or Maybe Oasis should grow some balls and use it as an opportunity to say something about Tibet if they actually believe in that cause and weren't just doing it because it was the fad of the moment.

I want to know why they would consider playing in a Communist country in the first place? Send out a message to people saying you won't tolerate the treatment of the Tibetan people by China and their OWN people by the communist government there by NOT wanting to play there! Looks like they just jumped on the Tibet bandwagon back 10 years ago when it was something "cool" to do.

I would give anything to see Oasis play live. They do not suck!! And I would most definitly put them up there with the beatles, rolling stones..etc. They are a great band!
Then again, this snub may not have anything to do with that 'Free Tibet' concert. Perhaps the Chinese just plain find the past comments and exploits of the Gallagher brothers offensive. That is understandable.
