An Omaha, Nebraska, man has been charged with animal cruelty after stuffing his 6-month-old kitten into a smoke-filled homemade bong made out of a plastic box and garden hose!!!

20-year-old stoner Acea Schomaker claimed the helpless kitten was "hyper" and he was "trying to calm her down."
We don't think the ganj is quite the right solution for an overactive cat!!
The sergeant who rescued the stoned kitty described her as "just dazed." "She was on the front seat of the cop car, wrapped in a blanket, and never moved all the way to the humane society."
Stick to catnip next time!!!

I live here in Omaha and this is such an embarassing/stupid story. I'm all for legalizing pot but all it takes it one stupid incident like this to put the kabash on legalization. I live in Omaha. This happened in Lincoln (thank god) it was on the news last night..they showed the cat and it was stoned outta his mind. It is only 6 months old too! The people on the news kept saying, "Kitty Bong". lol

MAN … my old cat loved getting high. It did calm her down big time … although I don't think I would ever shove her in a box…. My current kitty is not a fan so i don't smoke her up. but seriously the cats probably fine. people make such a big deal out of Pot …. its the mildest drug out there milder that liquor AND as if liquor is legalized and pot is not. you never hear about a stoner being too stoned and sleeping with a stranger or too stoned and barfing on your friends or too stoned and being aggressive and loud and kicked out of the bar. Okay, so yeah, this guy is a COMPLETE dumbass, but I DOUBT he meant to seriously harm the kitten. Obviously, pot is bad for animals and its a humans CHOICE to consume marijuana, but he wasnt necessarily ABUSING the animal. If his intentions were good, WHY IS THIS ANIMAL BEING SENTENCED TO DEATH! Being sent to the humane society, he is most likely going to be PUT DOWN. Absolutely disgusting that someone does something stupid and instead of seeing if the owner is actually fit they just send the cat to its possible death.
