R.I.P. Juliette and The Licks
Juliette Lewis has ditched The Licks for good!
Mz. Lewis has bid adieu to her former backing band (and sound), taking on an entirely new challenge with the just-formed Juliette and The Romantiques!
J and The Romantiques will be releasing Terra Incognita this spring, produced by Omar Lopez of The Mars Volta.
Mz. Lewis explained the band swap as a necessity. "Because this album is so sonically different than anything I've done before and captures many flavors of my emotional life and voice, it needed an entirely new name. Terra Incognita means unknown territory - and that's where I wanted to go musically. The guitars are more wild and atmospheric. The groove is dark and deep and allow for a lot of sonic contrasts."
Sounds progressive!
Jules and Co. plan to make their debut at the SXSW Festival in Austin, TX in a few weeks!

So many actors and actresses attempt to do the singing thing and Juliette Lewis nailed it! One of the best live shows I've ever seen. She is so not ugly! She definately has an interesting lok to her and to me, I think that's beautiful. I look forward to hearing more of the new stuff as Juliette has an amazing stage presence!

I'll miss Juliette and The Licks! They came out here to play with Unwritten Law and +44, and were awesome (They shat all over headliners +44). And now, my band t-shirt is irrelevant.
That said, the new project sounds pretty awesome, especially as it's produced by Omar Lopez! I hope she loses none of her Licks aggression!
