ABC Finally Has A Hit Again

Despite all the controversy surrounding this season's Dancing With The Stars, with two celebs dropping out last minute, the show actually managed to pull in big numbers on Monday night.
In fact, HUGE numbers.
The eighth season of the show was the most-watched premiere in Dancing's history.
That's great to hear, considering their numbers had been dipping for the past two years! All the pre-show buzz has worked - now, can they keep it up?
According to reports, over 22.5 million people tunes in to watch DWTS, giving the show a 9% increase from last year.
ABC just dominated Monday night's ratings and they're loving it!

It was AMAZING. In previous seasons, some of the contestants did alright, but last night was just one giant train wreck. You know you are a bad dancer when… Steve-O gets a higher score than you on DWTS.

I'm sorry but I just don't get the excitement of watching the "D" list of their profession dancing on tv!! I'm probably in the minority, but I'm wondering why ABC doesn't give it's other shows a chance to shine instead of canceling them. First to mind is "Life on Mars" a wonderfully quirky show who has already been sent to tv heaven.

How does an Olympic gymnast have such a stocky body? I know she is muscular but usually gymnasts are petite and lean. Shawn looked short and kind of fat. If she wins it will be due to her partner. Her voice is annoying as hell.
I have seen jackass on many occasions, with my kids, and I thought for sure Steve-O was gonna come out and be a jackass, but he was great. He can be a gentleman, and I for one was proud of him, and wish him well for the rest of this season and on staying sober!

Holly looked like a deer with her eyes in the light of a train. LOVE Julianne Hough, but I can't see them getting too far, her boyfriend is a robot dancer and unless there is a miracle, no way will they make it too far. OH!!!

Oh Im definantly routing for Melissa. That was a SMART move for ABC to move her straight from being so sadley dumped on the Bachelor to Dancing with the Stars. Im almost possitive thats why so many people watched… I know that Y I did! :} Go Melissa…. and maybe Holly Madison too, she sucked but I still Love all the Girls Next Door!
OH and I forgot to say that Melissa KILLED IT with only 2 days to learn! She did better than the others who had weeks to prepare….

My favs are Melissa and Shawn Johnson! This is the first time I watched the show since it's been on. The only reason I decided to watch was because Melissa was going to be on . . . I think that's why a lot of people decided to tune in.

Shawn Johnson. She is so adorable and her dance last night was fantastic. What a cutie pie. I always liked Derek Hough (or whatever his name), but I don't like him dancing with Lil Kim although she was ok. But she's looking more like LaToya Jackson.

I don't usually watch tv because of how busy I am w. school, work, and my son, but I got hooked on Season 13's The Bachelor thinking the single dad, previously divorced, runner-up from The Bachelorette - Jason Mesnick, thinking he was handsome and genuine. Turns out he was a cry-baby JERK. ANYWAYS, Obviously I voted and will be voting for MELISSA RYCROFT! I think she's such a sweetheart compared to the Cry-Baby and the Joker attention-whores who signed up for every talkshow to "win the public back". The end-result still leaves DWTS BOOing Jason during a recap of his public breakup and Bruno calling him a LOSER while Melissa received a standing ovation with only 2 days to practice! FYI, apparently Trista was on the 1st season's DWTS as well so Melissa is just as qualified to be on the show. They're both sweethearts anyways. PEREZHILTON, I LOVE YOUR WEBSITE. haha okay so i actually watched it and…melissa and shawn danced so beautifully…and the nekkid guy from the satc movie is a really good dancer too. i thought holly was the worst one…i can't believe she got an 18 (i think?) b/c i was honestly expecting 3's or 4's from all the judges. steve wozniak was horrible too but he was fun to watch and likeable…but i hated when he said "i had so much fun they're testing me for drugs tomorrow"..such a computer geeky, awkard and not funny joke to make
