Family Guy's Back In Hot Water With The FCC

The Parents Television Council is the latest group on the Family Guy's balls, complaining to the FCC that the March 8th episode of the racy cartoon was too explicit for television!
"Fox treated viewers to everything from an ‘eleven-way’ gay orgy to baby Stewie eating a bowl of cereal with horse sperm instead of milk … if that isn’t enough, the show’s leading character is also shown fanaticizing about his wife and moaning while a horse licks his bare behind. Clearly, the explicit content was not isolated to one instance in one segment of the show; it permeated the entire program."
The PTC is making the extra effort to corral all 1.3 million of its members into filing indecency complaints with the FCC over the crude ep.
What a waste of energy!
Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane had some choice words for the fundamentalist group last year when the PTC had previously targeted his toon.
"Oh, yeah. That’s like getting hate mail from Hitler. They’re literally terrible human beings. I’ve read their newsletter, I’ve visited their website, and they’re just rotten to the core. For an organization that prides itself on Christian values — I mean, I’m an atheist, so what do I know? — they spend their entire day hating people. I'm sure your children will develop (or have developed) quite a vivid vocabulary and opinions with the way you talk and think. And trust me, even if you "try" your best not to say something in front of your kids that are bad, they learn how to say curse words from their family first. Not the tv.
And also, are you sure that you are not a little kid? All you can do is blurt out an insult, a bad word followed by bad grammar, and then there's the way you think, which is quite childish.

Also, Family Guy does not come on at noon or 2 o'clock in the afternoon, so if you allow your kids to stay up past 10 o'clock on a school night to watch something with a mature rating, then that's your own fault. Your kids should be in bed by 9 anyway.
Here's a simple way to solve the problem:
If you don't like the show, find something else to watch.

I think the point that everyone for the PTC's complaints are missing is plain and simple: one group of people should not EVER decide what is right for every body– no matter if the collateral is children, money, religion, whatever. This is one of our nation's founding principles; democracy is based on collective agreement, not one group demanding that they get what they want.
Moreover, it's not for one group to say, "but what if someone doesn't know this show is bad for kids?" What if someone doesn't know chocolate makes you fat? Should we sue the candy companies? It's like suing McDonald's for hot coffee– stupid, preventative, and a waste of our time. TV is for everyone, even kids, and if the TV show displays the appropriate warning according to the agree rules, no one is at fault but the parent who isn't paying attention to their child.
I babysit three children regularly while their mother works a night job. Since they are all under the age of 10, I make sure to switch the parental controls on my TV– problem solved! Oh, and I'm also, at the most, one room away, so I know what they're up to (you do that, right? while you're blogging on Perezhilton?). Why make a dumb legal issue over something that's so trivial?
What makes me so angry about this situation is that it DOESN'T MATTER. FG is a TV show– a TV show that can be blocked by attentive parents– and our country is facing more important issues. The PTC may as well be paid off by the government to make people focus on things less important than the state of our nation and economy.

I love family guy, I think it's hilarious if you don't want your children to be exposed to themes like they have on family guy dont let them watch it! its as simple as that. i think the PTC needs to stop watching tv to purely find something to bitch about. Ive seen tons of shows where someone mistakes an animal for a person and enjoys it for a sec then realizes its not a person and freaks out, ha ha, tons of laughs, not offensive. I dont know if anyones ever been to Japan or espescially Hungary where at 10pm the travel channel instantly flips to hardcore porn on BROADCAST TV. The rest of the world allows just about anything on TV and they seem to get along fine. Quit bustin Family Guys balls, its not like its unexpected, dont watch the damn show if your squeemish. duh. I understand parents in general don't want their kids watching the show - I wouldnt let mine watch it till they were 16.
But it's up to ME to enforce that.
If you don't like the show, don't watch it and don't let your kids watch it.
The "Christian" association (which BTW I don't think has much to do with God) should have no say in it.
After all, there are worse things out there corrupting children. I hardly think an ADULT CARTOON is to blame.

I love TFG! I saw that episode about the horse — I nearly shot the coca-cola out of my nose. I'm liberal and I am a huge fan of Seth MacFarlane's works. TFG is simply genius and fabulous!
The show basically ridiculed our societal behaviors from day one. It is freaking hysterical and brilliant. I expect this show to run its course for the rest of my life or I'll go insane.

I'm really conservative AND own all the Family Guy DVDs. It's not as funny as it used to be, and while I did laugh a few times at this episode, it was pretty gross at times.
this whole parental guide line think is utter bullshyt (mind my language) family guy is a great show and ive yet to see any complaints against SNL (in which they have the cartoon "the Ambiguously Gay Duo" and show Sexual innuendo) and South Park (who continuously keep their show vulgar, and its HILARIOUS) as well as other shows. Seth MacFartface is just a figurehead that oversees the creations of his talented writers, THOUGH he has ultimate control over every single peep that comes from that show. This episode is LAME compared to the "Hitler" episode that ruined it for me personally, when Stewie went back in time to Nazu Germany, and they, aka SeTH made a mockery of wounded soldiers and did his gratuitous McCain/Palin button on the Nazi uniform. Like at WalMart, you can buy virtually any TV series on DVD, just don't look for the Showtime series "Queer As Folk", THAT would be offensive! But they DO carry the controversy-laden 70s CBS classic "All in the Family". See where I'm going with this……?
