The actor was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January of 2008.
The life expectancy of most people is just 6 to 12 months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Patrick's a fighter!
Hopefully he's not in pain.

this is so sad. I wish him nothing but the best. I love his show (the beast) , and I can't imagine it going on without him. Prayers and thoughts are with him.
I know he's a celebrity but now is the time to stop taking sneak photos of him. If he makes a deliberate public appearance that is one thing but sneaking photos of him right now is lame, as so is that Enquirer headline.

pancreatic cancer is one of the cruelist cancers fast and it can be painful, but I am sure if he asks if he is in pain, he will be medicated. the doctors are not going to let him be in pain if he or his wife ask for pain medication-that does not happen to celebrities, only to regular people in hospitals where the floors are understaffed

Its incredible that he keeps going and going like this. What a fascinating human being he is. I think its great that he is living his life to the fullest that he can and not laying in a hospital bed literally wasting away. God Bless and thanks for the movies.

I had 2 family members die of this disease last year. It is awful. He doesn't look to yellow yet. When he looks bright yellow thats how you will know its the end

I love Patrick. He is such a great human being. He has been married to his wife for 34 years! He met her when she was a student in his mother's ballet school, she was just 15 and he was 19, and he loved her his whole life. Patrick has a heart of gold.

They should put THIS pic on the side of cigarette pack. He still smokes like 3-4 packs a day right? His pancreas is DYING. Pancreatic cancer happens because people are heavy smokers who excessively drink alcohol. Very curable disease. Never pick up a cigarette.

There are a myriad of "cocktails" to help alleviate the pain associated with cancer, so hopefully Patrick Swayze is resting comfortably. He is to be admired for his courage and demeanor throughout this ordeal.

My neighbor died from pancreatic cancer in october. She was only 53. Unfortunately in was an extremely painful end for her. My prayers are with Patrick and his family.

He should have given alternative treatments a try before he got to this point. Modern medicine kills well over 100k people a year.

I'm sorry his health is failing and he is in pain. Patrick Swayze is a great actor and like so many others, I feel blessed that he shared his talent with the world.

I know Patrick feels terrible about leaving his beloved animals when he dies. For Jade Goody it is two young sons. We all ache when the time comes to say good-bye, there are always people or animals who will suffer and miss us terribly. Here's looking at you kid, and hope there is not too much suffering.
So, so, so sad…there isn't a woman I know of my generation (baby boomer) who didn't get wet from watching "Dirty Dancing"…just saw the musical in Boston on Feb 14th, and his "replacement" can't touch him…I saw Gone witht he Wind at a theater the first time I saw it, but "DD" is the ultimate in female porn. Chicks got WET watching this guy–a lot! I hope he got a lot of action out of it. Am sorry for him. Nice guy.
