Phelps To Open Up In First Televised Interview Since Bong-gate!

Poor Michael Phelps. He got so much negative press for his "litle" post-smoking incident.
He even got dropped by several sponsors!
And yet Chris Brown can reportedly beat up a female and Nickelodeon doesn't drop him?
As for that whole "Bong-gate", we'll finally get to hear what happened straight from the Olympic swimmer's mouth - and that funky jaw!
In his first TV interview since the photo seen ’round the world was released, Michael has decided to speak with NBC News' Matt Lauer.
The interview will air on the Today show this Friday and then again on Dateline this Sunday.
By comparison, there are so many mushc worse role models out there than Phelps. It's not like he bruised and beat up some girl!

Agreed, smoking pot at a party isn't that bad. Cut the poor guy some slack, he's obviously a nice enough guy.
People need to lighten up and just legalize marijuana, give the guy a freaking break! I bet 75% of Americans can honestly say that they've at least tried it.

The difference, my dear Perez, is that for Phelps, having a squeaky-clean image means EVERYTHING in the eyes of the sponsors who pay him so much money. For an accused felon woman-beater like Brown, there is no intrinsic link between his music and what he does in his personal life. It shouldn't be that way, but it is.

OH here we go kiddies let's ride the reality ride, HE is an Olympic Gold Medal winner, leagues above me and you. The expectation is that he set a standard that reflects the Olympic physical and moral goals. He reaped the monetary benefits so it stands to reason he abide by the lifestyle. HE KNOWS all of this yet he goes to a party with people who use him to their advantage, it is all HIS fault, and that is the end of the fun ride for him because he has undone all he worked for, his choice so he deserves what ever happens. He never struck me as someone who would put drugs or toxins into his body. It's not that bad, but I was shocked when I found out he smoked pot.
