Bittersweet News For Kelly Clarkson

So whaddya wanna hear first? The good or the bad?
The good: according to HITS Daily Double, Kelly Clarkson's new album, All I Ever Wanted, is on track for a # 1 debut in the U.S. next week. It is projected to sell between 210,000 - 230,000 copies.
The bad new: Kelly's last CD, My December, which sucked, debuted to 290,000 its first week!!!
We think that everyone's probably already got the new one on their iPods. After all, it did leak online weeks ago!

You can't compare album sales from now to even a year ago. The music industry as we used to know it is dying a slow death. A year ago everyone and their mom pirated music, now gradma's joined the party. Combine that with the recession, and it's not difficult to see why Taylor Swift has been able to top the charts with as little as 50,000 units sold.

Traditional cd sales (in stores) are down so low it's no shocker that it's lower. If it was released 18 months ago it would have been 500K I bet. Digital downloads and the economy are hitting traditional cd sales pretty hard. Go Kelly - GREAT RECORD!

umm perez keeps talking like all of these artists aren't popular anymore because their projected sales are lower than their last albums… i'm not really planning on buying kelly's cd, but there's this thing going on called a RECESSION where people don't have $14 to dish out for a cd.
Yeah, the second album sucked, but the lead single was good and nobody had heard all the other crappy songs when the album debuted, so of course it had some pretty strong numbers off the bat. This album's getting killer reviews across the board, so it'll probably have more legs.

She is the original and true A.I., she has the sweetest voice and her music is always from the heart… I'm really hoping more ppl will buy her cd an support her and I also hope she signs on for some Pilates cause the girl is really chubby!
