Everybody Sing Along: What's Your Damage Heather???

Good news for all of you die-hard Heathers fans!
The 1988 dark comedy is being turned into a musical!!!!!
The production is being developed by the director of Race to Witch Mountain, Andy Fickman.
Fickman and crew have even been doing readings this week to test it all out. And, in the readings, Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell played the lead with Christian Campbell as J.D.
As for Denise Di Novi, who produced the movie, she will be executive producing the musical.
And in keeping with the original feeling of the movie, Fickman also spoke with the movie's writer, Dan Waters, in order to "to make sure we were on the same page."
Fickman added, "He understood that our goals were to be creatively attuned to his original work."
The show should be ready for a full regional production by 2010, then followed by a Broadway run.

Anyway as to Maggiecat..I'm 22 and I very much know what "Heathers," is. When they did all the promotion for "Mean Girls," did you hear it buzzed as the new "Heathers." Seems like you only focus on today's pop culture so I thought maybe you would recognize it from that.
"Heathers" will always be a classic. Can't really believe they are doing this, but at least it's not a full all out remake, that would just p*ss me off. I could see Ellen Page playing Veronica.

Heathers is awesome! It cannot be redone whether on screen or a musical. Mean Girls tried but it didn't even come close.

how exciting! This movie is badass.. the controversy about the plot surrounding teenage suicide and christian slater was sucha rebel. Love musicals too! I'm really curious as to how this will come out. could be really great or just crash and burn!
