Michael Jackson has added 40 more shows to his upcoming residency at London's O2 Arena - bringing the grand total to 50 performances for Wacko's This Is It event!!!!!
Jacko could def use the cold hard $$$!
The shows have been extended through February 2010 and tickets are scheduled go on sale at 7 am Friday morning.
Jackson fanatics have been queuing outside the O2 Arena as early as Wednesday for a chance to get their hands on tickets for the King of Pop's "final" performances!!
It's been reported that by the time the final show on February 24th, 2010 concludes, over one million people will have witnessed Jacko's concert!
He will likely make between $50-70 million off these shows.

w.e. he's a legend, I just hope the performances are as good as what people make them out to be,
50 performances IF his face doesn't disintegrate and/or his disgusting skin "condition" doesn't recur. AND if he's not arrested for fondling little kids. It's been a long time since Jack-O was on the concert tour circuit and he's no longer young…he may not have the stamina to keep going until next February. His voice and his body have to stay intact, which may be problematic.
There are a lot of contingencies to consider.

For OVER one million people to see his shows, the O2 arena would have to grow some extra seats. It is a 20,000 seat venue. If every single concert is completely sold out then it would egual one million exactly. And there are going to be some shows that won't. Besides, even if he makes all the money he'll blow through it in a year or two.

Why is it insane? I can't believe anyone is surprised that he is going to do 50 shows and they will all sell out in milliseconds. The media is the one that keeps perpetuating this myth that he's a has-been and no one cares about him. If you look at his record sales and fan attendance, it's still feverish. He has millions of fans all over the world that will gladly shell out the cash to see him perform, and rightfully so. He has more talent in his little finger than half the people in the business today. Not to mention, if he's retiring after this, he better stock up on the $ so he can live up a comfortable retirement.
