Patrick Swayze Continues To Fight! Denies Reports He Is Close To Death

| Filed under: Sad SadPatrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze wants you to know that he is doing well!

After spotting the cover of a tabloid claiming the actor is reaching "The End" of his struggle with stage IV pancreatic cancer, Swayze has taken the time to release a statement on the true condition of his health.

"It's amazing to me that the tabloids such as the National Enquirer print such negative stories about me and my health when there are so many positive things going on in my life right now. I've started a new chemotherapy and, one again, I am one of the lucky ones with pancreatic cancer that is responding well to the treatment," says Swayze.

Thank goodness!

The ailing actor also assures the public that he won't be leaving anytime soon. Swayze has started working on a new book as well as introducing a new friend into his life - Kumasai, a 12-week-old Rhodesian Ridegeback puppy!

Patrick does has a few words of wisdom for the tabloids and press, though.

"I hope in the future, the press will think twice about printing inaccuracies and painting an unpleasant picture when I have so much to be thankful for at this time."

Fair enough!

Stay strong Patrick!

If you can survive "Roadhouse" you can beat this!

  3. 3

Yeah Pat, ya look like a million bucks, I can't understand why they would print that shit?

  4. 4

    Get well

  5. 5

wtf with your obsession posting pics of people near death………with your deepest sympathies………idiot

  6. 6

How do you know that you aren't close to death? He looks pretty bad in those pictures. He could drop tomorrow for all he knows.

    poor guy

    Sad… :(

Look at those enquirer headlines-glad to see they are keeping their journalistic standards high as usual!

  10. 10

Its not the cancer hes up for the Benjamin Buttons 2 roll

  11. 11

Did something like that happen with Paul Newman? And then he died. Just ask for privacy dude.

Re: RedWingsFan – gotta love a "Roadhouse" reference. Dalton was a badass.

Nicely said, when I am sure he would really like to pummel the editor who approved that story. People who work for sick rags like that are scum, awful people.

Re: yankees21 – Hell- to the -Yea!

  15. 15

    God, I love him.

The fact that's he's on a new treatment means the first stopped working. My mom was 'responding well' to new treatment also, and two months later she died. There's no cure for pancreatic cancer. Just upkeep.

  16. 16

If these pictures are accurate, he's a dead man walking. Sorry, Patrick, but you don't look like you're going to be around for long.

The survival rate for pancreatic cancer is 3 to 6 months; he's been battling it for 14-months. I don't buy his bravado. Maybe he doesn't want to behave like Jade Goody and publicize his demise.

    What a shit of magazine!

    You tell 'em, Patrick!

  21. 21

Yay! Let's hope he's around for a long time. What a warrior.

  22. 22

    Fuckin enquirer…douchebags

Stay strong Patrick!!! Fuck the tabloids, they don't know shit, they just print stories to sell their crap.

  24. 24

He doesn't look like he's OK

  25. 25

awww that was probably on of the most inspiring statements! leave the poor man alone!

  26. 26

I admire his attitude tremendously and feel sorry for him that he can't go out without someone pouncing and snapping a picture, but the pictures speak for themselves.

  27. 27

Patrick is a very strong person, kudos to him! It's sad, but I do believe he's going to succomb to his Cancer soon; stage 3 pancreatic cancer is usually fatal. I wish him luck.

  28. 28

The Enquirer sucks. Anyone with half a brain knows that chemo causes hair and weight loss. It's all part of the process. Stay strong Patrick!

SO if you agree Perez why are you running the jacked up picture again!!!
    F you Perez.

Harrbalsac you are killing me. It's not fair to make me laugh when I don't want to…

  31. 31

    Wish you the best!!!

  32. 32

God only knows how long we will live. The fact that Patrick got a new puppy fills me with joy, that puppy will help him feel better for a while, and nobody knows how long, not even the National Enquirer. Enjoy life all you can Patrick, I'm sending you positive thoughts and prayers.

  33. 33

    He said it, people. :(

  34. 34

I agree with Patrick, geez, this is a person life - what an awful rumor to have to deny.

  35. 35

I feel sorry for Patrick but believe he will remain strong and stick around for quite a while.
However, can I take this opportunity to address the ppl dissing Jade Goody saying things like "whoring himself out like that Brit bitch"…HOW DARE YOU!!! The reason she is doing what she is doing while she still can is making as much money as possible for her 2 little boys who she'll be leaving behind. She has shown true courage and doesn't need negativity from ppl like you…
How about using your brain before making a comment in future…..

  36. 36

I'm SO GLAD! Patrick, you're a true inspiration. The very best to you!

  37. 37

He is absolutely right! He is not out there pimping his cancer like Jade Goody or any other artists… he is a legend and National Enquirer is wrong by harrasing him and posting this pictures, that's totally disrespectful… I am sooo glad that he stood up for himself and issued an accurate and strong statement to put an end on those idiotic tabloids… Hope they will finally listen and leave him alone!

  38. 38

It's sad and disgusting that this beautiful man has to make these public statements every few weeks because the BS the Enquirer and other rags print.
For God sakes leave him alone.
And Perez, as much as I like coming here to read and often get a laugh at your wit, dude seriously, why did u put this Enquirer horse shi t up?

  39. 39

Now that is sad, compare this gentlemen against the racist fat fuck jade and now ponder what they have done for the planet. Get well bigman!!

    Hugs to Patrick.
I've died and come back, or have experienced an NDE.
It was amazing, and he's not to worry about a thing.
It was the most beautiful experience of my life, being dead. (irony)

  41. 41

He's so emaciated. I know someone who died of cancer and Patrick resembles how a person looks when time is running out. It's good that he's staying positive but it doesn't look good for him.

  42. 42

In all reality, the chemo will not save him but may only make him sicker. Stage IV is very severe. Pancreatic cancer is almost never survived. As someone who worked with oncology patients, I have never seen anyone survive this type of cancer longer than about 1 year. Maybe he is still in the denial stage. Poor man I feel bad for him

  43. 43

THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER IS A FUCKING JOKE!!!! They're all such lying douchebags, and whoever believes their shit is obviously mentally retarded!
Hang in there, Patrick! :) We're rooting for ya!
