Watch & Listen: Wax On, Wax Off
Filed under: Anglophilia > Listen To ThisWow. Wow. Wow.
You MUST check out (above) the just-released video for Daniel, the kickoff single off Bat For Lashes' sophomore album.
The song is moody pop brilliance and the video is haunting!
AND, it's an homage to the Karate Kid.
Ch-ch-check it out!

Re: DikinCider – When was the last time you even saw your dick and in the mirror don't count. That thing disappeared below the equator back in the 90's!
Ahh fuck you perez, i can't see shit at my job..
Like the song.
It looks like the dancer's costumes cost $20 to make….
freakish…
Its good…except that she looks like my foot…
some isp problems there mario?
Re: harrybalsac – now was that nice?
great voice, hot girl, fabulous album.
"a homage" not "an homage"
Sucks
bat for lashes is AMAZING.
props for finding out about her, perez!
…
Re: LaDiva – You're lucky, you don't wish for that 3:45 of your life back.
what the hell is this lily allen crap? slow day i see…..
Re: DikinCider – I'm sorry, didn't mean to hurt your feelings ya fat fuck.
Love the song. She looks exactly like Lily Allen.
that's pretty darn creative
I like it!
deam she look like lilly allen…with a way bigger nose!!
Sounds like a lot of other female singers out there today-not original and rather BORING!
Re: harrybalsac – ahh you didnt hurt my feelings…. know where i can get an industrial size wheelbarrel?
Re: perezsucksatgrammar – you must be one of those people who likes to correct fatass when he uses the word "hanged" in reference to someone who committed suicide. which btw, fatass would be right. as for the word "homage", it is accepted with "a" or "an" in front of it depending on whether you choose to pronounce the "h". the same applies to the words "herb" or "historic" etc. so just beacuse it may not "sound right" to you, that doesn't mean it's wrong.
Wtf??? What crap!
Wait so she loves ralph macchio?
I liked the song. Sounds very much like Delerium or an upbeat Enya.
Re: DikinCider – Home Depot aka " Rent-a-Beaner"! You can get two of them to carry your gut around for cheap!
looks like idiot riri before anything is played.
I don't understand what this has to do with the Karate Kid.
I like the video for "what's a girl to do" better
Not a bad song, but those things in the background remind me of the Fruit of the Loom grapes are a little distracting!
This song is awesome, I've been listening to it on BBC Radio One for a while now, and it only just came out on iTunes. I loooove it!!!!!!!!
Why does she remind be of Kate Bush?
Re: perezsucksatgrammar – actually it can go both ways. It's "an homage" if you don't pronounce the h.
WOW! natasha khan (AKA bat for lashes) is A-MA-ZING!
this is one of the best vids i've seen in a while and the songs fantastic
i've already pre-ordered my copy of the new album "two suns" and can't wait
Re: italiangirl106 –
uhhh…like who?
WHAT DID YOU EXPECT FROM NATASHA KAHN? THE BEST NEW ARTIST SINCE BJORK…-SYS-
That was too awesome!!
Re: perezsucksatgrammar –
Actually, Perez is correct. The H is silent, so the correct phrase is "an homage."
That was pretty darn fabulous, actually. Love the song.
Through all the crap you post *cough* Lady Gaga *Cough* it's so nice to see you post videos about such talented and interesting artists like Bat For Lashes. So glad to hear about her 2nd album. Fur and Gold was an amazing album. Can't wait to hear it.
Re: 29 – WOAH
she's great .. listen to her other incredible song WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO?
This sounds like Fleetwood Mac mixed with Kate Bush Bosh Bash.
Perez!! You read my mind! So amazing……
lol, i LOVE the karate kid!! she sounds like bjork meets emily haines(of metric). very nice.
Re: Whimsical101 –
No wonder I like it so much.
Super innovative sound and video. Awesome!
Mmm NO!
Its catchy…but only because the baseline is almost identical to the Cure's "A Forest."
great song.
i think the video works well.
she's definat;y seen a few Bjork videos. paralelles can be drawn
Re: enjoythesilence –
Exactly like the woman in The Fiest that sings the 1234 song that was the ipod commercial.
I love this song downloaded to my ipod and been listening over and over again, bit strange its all about karate kid but try not to let that ruin it!!
Um major suckage.
Re: italiangirl106 –
Correction: the artist's name is Feist. And I really don't see the similarity other than the fact that they both fit in the female singer/songwriter category. I would say she sounds more like Bjork, and there are most certainly not a lot of singers out there today that sound like her.
If you need any more convincing, I would suggest listening to the rest of the songs off of "Two Suns" or her previous album, "Fur and Gold". "Daniel" is probably the most accessible/commercial song off of "Two Suns", whereas the rest of the songs are more "out there".
