New Details On Natasha Richardson's Serious Skiing Accident

We told you ast night about actress Natasha Richardson's "traumatic brain injury" after a skiing injury in Canada on Monday.
Now, new details have come out about the skiing accident which landed Liam Neeson's wife in a Canadian ICU!
Richardson took a tumble at the bottom of the beginners' run during a skiing lesson at a resort near Montreal, but the actress was unfortunately not wearing a ski helmet at the time of her injury!
The Mont Tremblant ski resort has reported that Natasha had "no external sign of injury, no cut or bleeding" and was "laughing and joking and she walked to her room on her own" after her spill.
It wasn't until the actress later began to complain of a headache that the severity of her injury became apparent.
Richardson was rushed to the nearby Centre Hospitalier Laurentien, and she was later transfered to the intensive care unit at the Sacré Coeur Hospital in Montreal.
Natasha's entire family is said to be "very distressed" and husband Neeson immediately left the set of his new movie to join their children by his wife's bedside.
Our thoughts continue to stay with Richardson and her family!

Wow. And to think all of this happened in Quebec, which is where I live. Get well soon, Natasha.
That's sad.
OMG!! I hope she's OK!! She, her mom, & her husband, are all talented actors.
Sad,really,really Sad
It almost sounds like she had a minor stroke or something, fell and then later had a much larger one. Poor lady, I really hope she comes through this ok.
=( get better soon
Why don't people wear helmets??? How many people have to die from head injuries before people realize they should maybe put a helmet on?
Oh no. So scary. I have been skiing since I was 3 and I still wear a helmet every time that I go out. The same kind of thing happened to one of my friends, and she died from the head injury… Hopefully, they caught this one in time.
ohh i love liam neeson ! It's sad , i hope she gets better !
It actually means that liam neeson is in montreal or somewhere near. Nice
Ohh no, that's terrible:( I go to Mont Tremblant all the time it's such a nice place, but you definently have to be careful!
I hope she gets well soon
Sounds like she had a traumatic bleed. I hope this is something she can come back from.
Sad. I hope she gets well soon.

Re: lynx617 – I agree!
Wishing her full recovery.
not a stroke… sheesh… probably is a bleed in the an area of the brain.. You DO NOT have to have outward injuries to suffer this… could be from sheer as well as blunt force…. very critical and wish her the best…
OMG - not Sacre-Coeur Hospital!
she probably did not wear a helmet because she was on the beginners slope. normally minor injuries. sounds like she had a freaky accident, a brain stem accident. happens to bike riders too. snapped brain stem or damaged that bled out? very, very poor outcome for this. very sad. sad that she will now be the poster person for using a helmet.
Just unbelievably sad. Something SO small, that didn't even manifest itself. Life is just so short and so fragile. RIP….. RIP
Re: lynx617 – I live near Montréal and have been skiing at Mont Tremblant many times. The Robert Kennedy family used to go skiing there every winter. Only last week I was reading in a local newspaper that our Government is preparing a law for next winter, a law which would make it mandatory to wear helmets on ski slopes, even the beginner's slopes where you take lessons. Hope that law is ready by next ski season. Am praying for Natasha and her family.
this is sad shes a great actress!! Ps. Tremblant is an amazing place to ski! It's too bad it had to happen there…
am I the only person who has never heard of a "ski helmet"? I haven't been skiing in a few years, but I've been several times in the past and I have never worn a helmet and I have never seen anyone ever wearing a helmet… normally people are wearing those silly hats that look like dreadlocks. Is this a Canada thing???
