New York Post Is Also Reporting That Natasha Richardson IS Brain Dead

Sadly, there are many conflicting reports about the current state of actress Natasha Richardson following her serious skiing accident in Canada on Monday.
Her family has yet to release a statement, but TMZ is reporting that she is suffering from brain swelling and is not brain dead.
Time Out New York is insisting that Richardson is brain dead, according to family sources.
Now, the New York Post is also reporting that Natasha is brain dead. They say: "Actress Natasha Richardson is brain dead, after falling in a ski accident in Canada, friends told The Post today."
So sad.

I think it is a little early to pronounce someone brain dead already from this accident so let's all sit back and wait for the hospital and her husband to make the announcement as to her condition. She has young teenage sons remember, this is so unfair to them.

Eh I wouldn't go as far as to say that. Suffering a head injury and not getting a CT scan is risky on its own. While it sounds like it's a condition that will no doubt lead to death, brain swelling occurs more often than people would think. Your risk of swelling stemming from an injury (say a car accident) goes up depending on the type of medication you take IE blood thinners and BP Medicine. It has to do with blood vessels. Yes, it can lead to death. But many individuals recover from it.
If anything can be learned from this.. even if you feel "ok" after falling or being in an accident.. GET CHECKED OUT. Nikki Taylor is another example!

My reference to Niki Taylor was in regards to feeling "okay" as opposed to getting checked out on an emergent basis. As I understand it, she was wearing a seatbelt for the crash, but because she didn't sustain any "obvious injuries" she felt she was unharmed. She later began complaining of issues and possibly collapsed at the scene? That's when she was wheeled in and they discovered the extent of her internal injuries. The other people in the vehicle weren't injured near to the degree she was.
