Amen, Sister! Suze Orman Blasts Bush

Suze Orman tells it like it is!

America's favorite financial expert has some choice words for the former President, George W. Bush, regarding the financial crisis the United States is currently drowning in.

And his role in it!

She says:

"You blew up every single financial vessel we had and if you think you aren't personally responsible, well, the blame starts at the top. There is no higher top than you, SIR! If I were you, I would feel so absolutely horrific that I would take every penny I had and distribute it to anybody and everybody to help them in whatever way I could. You owe the American people every penny of your fortune and your family's fortune."

Preach it!

  4. 4

    yeah!!! that´s new….Nobody knew that..!!!

  5. 5

  6. 6

What an ass. The problems actually started with Clinton.

  7. 7

Mario stick to thing you know like brown nosing Lady GaGa and Britney.

  8. 8

A- freakin - MEN!!!!!! Its about time someone told him directly. He is and always will be a douche!

  9. 9

For goodness' sakes, I've been saying that since the freaking econmy crashed! Of course it's Bush's fault, he let Corporate America get away with anything and everything and now Obama has to clean this crappy situation! This is what happens when you elect a moron for president!

You want to blame someone for the economic crash, people losing jobs left, right and center, Executives getting so-called 'bonuses' for messing up their own companies, BLAME BUSH! He made this all possible!

I am completely confused that anyone but Bush is being blamed. Are people blind?

  10. 10

Way to go Suze! Finally somebody says it like it is. The problems did not start with Clinton. He cleaned up the first Bush's mess then W came and ruined our surplus. It's called economics…look it up!!!

  11. 11

Remember, when Bush first proposed the first stimulus package. he said SPECIFICALLY do Congress "Do NOT try to limit any executive pay or bonuses" With a bill that important and gigantic, why was he so concerned about making sure the execs got their massive payouts? Oh, because they were donors. Typical Washington Bullshit.

  12. 12

LOVE her and everything that comes out of her mouth is spot on!

  13. 13

Yeah, lets just forget about the millions of people that over spent and filed bankruptcy. Lets forget about people being behind in their mortgages because they took out a mortgage that was too big. Lets forget about people buying foreign and not support US companies. Lets forget about ALL of that and just blame Bush. That chick is delusional.

  14. 14

    That was an awesome statement.

  15. 15

Bush is not the only person Both sides of the fence are corrupt and this country could stand to have a revamping of both its main political parties.

  16. 16

Really?! Bush is as guilty as everyone else taking a mortgage only because the bank would give it to them, although they can't afford it… And Ms. "America's Favorite Financial Expert"… I'm sure you benefited nicely during this recession - wanna give away some of your fortune as well???

  17. 17

I love Suze! She's my fav lesbian financial expert! And she's totally right!

  18. 18

amen sista…amen. She is a FANTASTIC EXAMPLE in our society…THANK GOD…One person who is influencing other to take responsibility and not live in the materialistic world by drowning yourself and EVERYONE ELSE in it.

SHEHASBIGBOOBS -Stick to what you can see clearly-boobs. You're not a history buff on the economy.

  19. 19

    Just crying for attention.

  20. 20

    Uh, no.
Bush holds responsibility for not doing more to stop it.
Chris Dodd and Barney Frank (Democrats!) hold responsibility for pushing these policies and taking money from the institutions that we are bailing out now.
Clinton holds responsibility for not doing more to stop it when this whole thing started- during HIS administration.
The companies and media hold responsibility for working to convince us we need more than we can afford.
We hold responsibility for falling for it.
One more reason for me to never ever pay attention to anything that comes out of that quack Orman's mouth.

And why is it that when Clinton was president, the Republicans had all the power because they had the majority in the House and Senate- and therefore they were blamed for everything, but when Bush was president and Democrats had the house and senate, everything was mysteriously somehow still the GOP's fault, because they had some secret mystery magical power? I am so glad I'm a registered independent. These people- all of them- are insane.

and now Obama want to add 10x to what Bush did

  22. 22

what??? Bush is not in Office, not making the huge finacial decisions, not spending trillions of dollars in his first week.

Myth - This Democratic-controlled Congress has been good for the American people - FALSE.

    As of early 2006, before the Democrats took control of Congress, consumer confidence stood at a 2-1/2 year high;

    The average gas price before the 2006 election was $1.50-2.00;

The unemployment rate had consistently fallen since 2003 until it reached a 5-year low at 4.7% in Feb., 2006.

The Dow Jones hit a record high and American's were buying cars and houses.

But we didn't like what Bush had done in Iraq, and Americans wanted change! So in 2006, we voted for a Democratic Congress to take control. Since then:

    Consumer confidence has plummeted;

    Gasoline surged over $4.00 a gallon;

According to the Dept. of Labor, last month (Sept. 08) Unemployment was a whopping 6.1%.

Americans' home equity dropped by $trillions. The many properties in foreclosure from greedy investors have lowered the value of other homes as well.

    The Dow Jones has dropped its most drastically in decades;

Countless greedy Wall Street embezzlers and corrupt CEO's have surfaced more than ever and been allowed to flourish.

  23. 23

that won't be a drop in the bucket. just like madoff's wife keeping thier home (which I don't think she should) it won't help as many people that needs it.

  24. 24

I know people who voted for President Clinton in 1992 while they lived on welfare in trailers or government housing. When Clinton's two terms were over, they were still living on welfare in trailers or government housing.

  25. 25

    y'all damn democrats are ridiculous.

One Big Ass Mistake America :)

  26. 26

    Re: Animlovr

The bad loans started in the late 90's (particularly '98 and '99)- under the Clinton administration- because of pushes from Democrat leaders in the senate. Recorded sessions show that the majority of the small number of those opposed to those legislations were in fact Republicans. I don't know if you realize this, but Bush didn't even come to office until January 2001. It's called history. Look it up.

By the way, a measly budget surplus doesn't erase trillions of dollars we've been in debt for for years. Our nation was founded in debt- the Revolutionary War. Just because Clinton happened to spend a little less than some would have expected doesn't mean he's blameless in this particular crisis.

  27. 27

    Re: ItsMeRayne

yes saying that to someone is really telling him that "directly" fucking idiot.

  28. kiana says – reply to this

What came out of her mouth that time was nonsense. She needs to stick to what she knows. The greedy CEOs and underlings fulfilling their orders are the bastards who crumbled their own empires therefore affecting this whole country. It does start at the top,of the COMPANY! Bush doesn't have anything to do with their salaries or knowing what their intimate business profits, details, etc. are like. Another liberal way out in far left field as usual. AND How come Nobama can say something like he did on late night and get away with it yet if Bush said that he would have been crucified? Proves even further how screwed up this country is under his control-mind control. I'm tending to think Americans are gettng stupid; I can't figure out any other reason for nominating someone for Prez who has NO experience. AND there you have it :) TGIF wahoo.

  29. 29

    George W = MORON!

The rest of the world was in shock when he was voted in for the second time. Is there something in the water in the US?

Thank god you redeemed yourself with Obama! - but the poor man has A LOT of cleaning up to do.

  30. 30

For the people saying this wasn't partly Clinton's fault, it actually was. During his administration, because things were so peachy, he cut a lot of the economic programs started way back during the New Deal. When things get too good in this country, people start thinking they're invincible and doing dumb things- like buying million dollar homes when there is no way they can afford them. I'm not saying Bush did nothing wrong, but he's not some totalitarian dictator who ran the country into the ground to build himself a palace.

I cannot wait to hear when she feels that way about Obama, will you be supporting her then?

  33. 33

Dumbass gives lesbians a bad name. She just went the way of the Dixie Chics as far as her career goes. The crisis we are in is so much more complicated than her dig at Bush. Go back to 1994 when Bill Clinton vetoed Glass-Steagell. Go back to Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, both demorats who told the banks, especially Bank of America, that if they didn't make more minority loans for mortgages, they would be fined and audited.
Remember Suze, the stock market was at 14,000 when Pelosi and the demorats took over the House of Representatives.

  34. 34

Yeah Bush asked for 9/11? Love him or hate him, he kept us save. During Clintons admin, we had the Oklahoma Bombings, the thing in Waco, we had an attempt on the Towers which failed, and the 9/11 plans where made during his administration including having all the guys go to air flight school during that time. I am not a fan of Bush or any politician cause in my opinion they are all the same, and even I myself can become press and the nation and other politicians and advisors will not let me do what I want, so I put no blame on anyone politician I put the blame on every greddy politician and company heads that care more about money then they do about the American People.

  35. 35

its amazing the blinders you democrats have on….you guys are FOOLS.

  36. 36

Umm, sorry, not everyone is like Obama who gives billions away knowing that is all going into the pocket of CEO's. When Obama is done with this country, George Bush will look like a hero!

  37. 37

Nobody's forced to take loan. It's just that people are careless and now they need someone to blame instead of just looking in the mirror.

  38. 38

No, no, no, I'm not a Bush fan but that's not true. Bush didn't control our economy, the consumer controls our economy, one person can't control the economy and right now it needs to be stimulated, so everyone should buy American made products, that's the fastest way to get back to where we need to be. And in response to "Moniker" saying that Bush let Corporate America do what ever they want….in case you didn't see it all over the news yesterday look up the AIG bonuses which happened right under Obama's nose.

  39. 39

    Biased much, Perez?

  40. 40

sooo just because someone is "Famous" (ps who the hell is she) we have to listen to their uninformed nonsense?

That statment is based in 0% fact and 100% media-driven BS!!

Dont be uninformed like this genious here, research the current financial crisis yourself- you'll be sooo shocked as to the truth of the matter and how FAR OFF the mass-(mis)understanding is.

  41. 41

Fuck her! Its not just bush's fault!! He did what he thought was best!
I promise u barack obama won't do any better!

  42. 42

    How… (un)original.

  43. 43

Bush and his daddy and daddy are retards and the people who voted for them are retards. Then they allowed Junior and his brother to cheat the system so that he could serve a second term and do even more damage. The Republicans need to stick to what they do best, toe tapping in the men's room. :)

  44. 44

she damn right. that bush fucker needs to be dragged out of his new mansion.

  45. 45

    Truth hurts

  46. 46

I love this woman! Watch her show every Saturday. She tells it like is when it comes to your MONEY!

  47. 47

…"You owe the American people every penny of your fortune and your family's fortune."
That's right! Sing it out comrade! Lol. Fucking commie.

  48. 48

Bush, Cheney Greenspan and anyone else Dem or Repub who was involved in this mess. Take every cent from them and then throw them in jail. This is such BULLSHIT.

  49. 49

    RIGHT ON SISTER……………………………

  50. 50

This is total CRAP! You cannot put the blame totally on Bush. You can actually trace the mortgage crisis back to Carter. This current economic downturn is not the fault of on man. It has been a long time coming and with government bail outs and government intervention it's only going to get worse.

  51. 51

    This woman is a twit.

  52. 52

AMEN SISTER (George FUCKER Bush) has fucked this country up (ROYALLY)

  53. 53

    hollaback gurl!

  54. 54

She's an idiot…. Let's not forget the people who got greedy and live above their means and expect everyone to bail them out….

  55. 55

When the Democrats took control, that's when it started going downhill. We had 6 years of unprecedented growth under George W. Bush, even with 9-11 and Katrina. He deserves credit for that.

  56. 56

I find it funny how all the uninformed, cool-aid drinkers are so quick to jump on the "Bush's fault" bandwagon and don't even take one second to educate themselves. What's hitting the fan now is a result of policies and laws put into place over 10 years ago. Last time I checked Bush wasn't president 10 years ago.

Dear Billy boy wanted to relax laws so that every one could own a home, even people who couldn't afford one. So they passed policies to force banks to relax their loaning practices. If you're going to talk trash do your homework people.

  57. 57

It seems that people expect the president to do everything while they just sit and wait. Well it doesn't work that way.

  58. Vette says – reply to this

It started with Jimmy Carter with Clinton pushing the CRA act at lighting speed. When Dems controlled Congress under Bush - they refused to acknowledge that financial institutions were starting to crumple & refused any regulations after MANY MANY warnings. Thank you Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid.
Celebrities are the biggest idiots & retards thinking they know WTF they're talking about.

  59. 59

I have to disagree…it is the greed of this WHOLE nation that got us into this mess!!

  60. 60

She is the same as Cramer and all the other "Financial Experts" on TV telling us over the past year what to in invest in and what not to invest in.And that all turned out to be shit! She should be ashamed for all the bad "Advice" and give back all the money she made as a "Financial Expert" on TV

  61. 61

I thought lesbians loved bush. . .I'm happy to be wrong.

  62. 62

Those of you who believe it is this simple are morons. This goes back decades and we are as much to blame as any politician. He is a convienent scapegoat though. But Frank and Dodd and Obama and Greenspan and Bernake and Clinton and Bush I and every other GD member of Congress is responsible. And you better take an overall view quick, because one hand is moving fast while you are looking at the other. Government is more of a problem at this point than business. Business is stupid, and when they are stupid they should go away to die. They aren't though so we are paying for stupidity. Ultimately this will lead to a terrific disaster. It's only started.

  63. 63

Really? It was all Bush? None of the Democrats should take a part in this? Does this bitch know anything on this history of this economic downturn? With her partisan and uninformed remarks there is no way I'd ever listen to one fucking thing she has to say.

  65. 65

REALLY?! i'm not a huge fan of Bush, but this is not his fault. THE DEMOCRATICALLY CONTROLLED CONGRESS was saying that Fannie/Freddie were "fundamentally sound" (BARNEY FRANK) and those things helped crash the economy. BOTH sides are at fault. BUSH IS OUT OF OFFICE. stick to reporting gossip, not politics.

  66. 66

How are "we" responsible?? I have done nothing except be born in late 80's and now I have to graduate college at a time when even experienced workers are being laid off. I love it how just as our generation comes of age, now, today, we have to face economical and environmental crisis and the future looks so grim… and all anyone can say is how it it is only going to get worse. How the fuck are "we" left with this mess…

  67. 67

    fuck yeah…

  68. 68

Top educated economist claim that Suzie Orman is a fraud. They say everything she says is bullshit and that you shouldn't listen to her.

    Stupid loudmouthed bitch.

  69. 69

For the sake of conversation, can someone tell me what Bush did to prevent the negative impact of the financial crisis? (Denying it existed is not an acceptable answer.)

  70. 70

    Re: Plinkie9 – Amen.

  71. 71

PEOPLE…………. are we forgeting that Obama was in Congress!! He helped create this mess we are in!!! In his first weeks in office spent MORE THAN BUSH DID!! It will not fix our financial downfall if will not help we are fucked…. STOP ALL SPENDING

  72. gines says – reply to this

it's actually quite comforting to know that some people on this website are smart and aware of this country's political history and not ready to jump on the stupid "let's blame bush" bandwagon like this stupid cooze is. i appreciate it.

  73. 73

Blaming Bush is just a way for people to avoid looking at themselves and what really caused this crisis – human greed. Who's at fault? (1) people who bought houses they couldn’t afford; (2) banks who wrote the bad mortgages; (3) financial companies who created investments out of the bad mortgages and sold them to investors. So, it’s not just corporate greed and the inability of the government to crack down on them that got us where we are today - it’s also the stupid people out there who think they deserve to live above their means.

  74. 74

I'm glad I stopped watch Oprah after she decided to shill for Obama, so now I don't have to listen to this loud-mouthed bitch anymore, either, when she's a guest. Obama owns this shit now. He's spending us into oblivion, targeting private citizens, and making fun of retarded people. What an asshole.

  75. 75

Um, ignorant bitch. It's the federal reserve that essentially controls the economy and the market. The federal reserve isn't even part of the government, it's a privatized company where they fraud Americans of their money. The president may be part of the scheme but certainly not to be blamed 100%. Wake up people. Watch the Obama Deception on google video.

  76. 76

Wow you would think Suze Orman would know that President Bush is not solely responsible for the recession. It started with President Clinton and the Congress has a huge impact, as well. People need to leave President Bush alone.

  77. gines says – reply to this

also perez i'm fuckin' livid that you categorized this under "inspiration." the only people that would be inspired by this ugly motherfucker's words are stupid brainless liberal jackoffs. you moron.

Hallelujah! Testify! That prick takes no freaking responsibility. IMPEACH BUSH NOW!!!

  80. 80

Did George W Bush personally approve mortgages for people living beyond their means? Did George W Bush personally give the banks a bailout of taxpayer money so those banks could turn around and throw lavish parties and give themselves huge bonuses for failing? No.

It is so easy to blame one person for everything because he started an unpopular war. Suze Orman drives me crazy.

  81. 81

What a dumb ignorant DIKE. And that is coming from a gay man. First of all contrary to popular belief, Bush is not powerful enough to affect every fucking thing on this planet. GET OVER IT. Second the issues with AIG were put in place not by Bush but MANY MANY MANY years earlier by the DEMOCRATIC congress. The same Dems that are currently BANKRUPTING us all. Whether you like Obama or not one party should not control all and we would be better off with a balance of power. We are now 2 trillion in debt because of Obama and the Dems. Yes the economy needs stimulation but we don't need to continue to spend money that we don't. Remember it is LEZI ORMAN that has a segment on her show called "Can you afford it?" Perhaps Obama should call in because I am sure should would not agree with spending trillions of chinese dollars. Go eat a beave and shut the fuck up Orman.

  82. 82

Re: Spindoc – So then why the the Democratically controlled Congress vote for it. Oh because they are Donors. Get off the Bush syndrom. Dems have controlled Congress since 2006. It passed because Dems voted for it

  83. 83

Amen, sister. Bush tarnished this country beyond repair.

    Okay, I'm done ranting….

  89. 89

Suze was on her TV show telling people to buy homes in Orange County in 2005…at the peak of the largest housing bubble in world history. She's JUST as much to blame as anyone else! But now all of the sudden she acts like she saw all of this coming. Sure thing, Suze! Whatever you say.

    An ex-fan.

  90. CaraC says – reply to this

Suze Orman doesn't know what she's talking about. How did Bush blow up "every single financial vessel we had"?
ACORN forced banks to make home loans to people who couldn't afford them. They cried racism, they used intimidation, sending demonstrators into banks and showing up at the homes of bank officers. They also used lobbying to force Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to lower their standards so they would have to insure extremely high risk loans.
Then bankers created derivatives using these bad loans. Auditors didn't rate them properly. Institutional buyers of these derivatives didn't investigate them properly. Consumers contributed by buying houses they couldn't afford or refinancing and pulling their principal out and spending it, assuming they'd be fine because the house would appreciate.
It took a village to bring down the American economy, but ACORN was one of the main nuts that started it. And that was its goal. ACORN was founded by far Left 1960s radicals to collapse the American economy, create a crisis, and impose Marxism.

How about doing some research on what Obama has done and planning to do for the economy??? Thats what we get for electing someone with absolutely NO experience!! He can't say shit without a teleprompter and when he does he fucks up like on Leno! LOLOLOLOLOLOL

  95. 95

  96. 96

Umm last I checked the problem began with these banks giving loans to people who really didn't have the means to keep up with payments and the interest rates attached to these loans. Sorry, George W really isn't to blame!

  97. 97

Why are "Bush is at fault" posts slowing down now? Is the discussion just too complicated or is it time for the Maury show???

  98. 98
