Julia Roberts Has Lost Her Golden Touch

Is it over for Julia Roberts? The America's former "sweetheart" stars in the new film, Duplicity, which helped test where exactly Roberts stands with the public.
It seems they feel lukewarm about her, as the film opened third over the weekend to a mild $14.4 million.
The bromantic comedy I Love You, Man opened second with $18 million, while Nicholas Cage unexpectedly seized first place with $24.8 million with Knowing.
Maybe it's time for a DUI!

Julia Roberts is likable, but not an exceptional actor or a great beauty….someone in the right place at the right time initially, and built a career on that. That can only go for so long….she's lucky it has lasted this long.
third place isn't bad. it was a mature romantic comedy, it grossed pretty good. good for Julia.

everyone is always surprised when Nic Cage movies do well, but they always do. That is why people keep hiring him and he keeps making them. That being said I think Duplicity looks good, but don't want to pay 11 to see it.

It's called KARMA. She is a notorious mean, snide, smart ass, nasty bitch by most accounts. She is from here in metro Atlanta and she was absolutely nasty on a local radio show a few years back which was completely unnecessary. Eventually Karma catches up to a person. (or I'd like to think so anyway)

I was never a big fan and didn't think she deserved to win the Oscar for Erin Brockovich. I had no interest in Charlie Wilson's War because she was in it. Besides, she has a foul mouth — nice example for her children.

Re: Mentalist – you know, I am a female, so I cant rate this a 100%, but, I never saw why she was on people's most beautiful, called a great beauty, etc. she always looked like the girl next door that got the makeup artist involved. and her hair has ALWAYS BEEN BLAH! about 20 years ago, she was engaged to keifer sutherland and she had dyed her hair blonde and it looked HORRENDOUS! You women know, you try to dye your hair yourselves, you go blonde from medium brown and you have that brassy yuck color. she was walking around with that color. UGH!!!!! don't know if it was for a movie, but, UGLY and the perez of the time, sucking her butt, she is soooo beautiful-had to be colorblind.

I liked the movie "Pretty Woman", mostly because young Richard Gere was in it. I never understood why so many called Julia Roberts "America's sweetheart".
People have finally realized that she is ugly and only an okay actress! FINALLY! The ONLY director that can coax a performance out of her is Steve Soderbergh, otherwise, she stinks up the joint.
I know first hand how much of a snot Roberts is! I could give several examples of her arrogance. When she returns home to Powder Springs, GA she picks up her little sister in a LIMO everytime to draw attention to herself. In Santa Fe where she now lives, the local towns people hate her. She acts better than everyone and is on a power kick to the "little people". She is excellent at Snubbing all non-celebrities and refusing autographs, etc…. Besides, didn't she take someone's husband away from them?

I think Julia Roberts is a great actress, but this movie with the preview given just didn't appeal to many people. I never really could get what the movie was about by watching the preview..
I'd see the movie to watch Clive Owen in action. I loved her in Pretty woman, but she's become a cliche (probably only to me.) Didn't she steal someone's hubby? I've always liked her brother's acting - Eric Roberts blows me away in any role he does, large or small.
She sucks and she thinks she's so cool I can't stand her and I don't know anyone that can. She's not even that great of an actress and she's not hot anymore. She looked good Pretty Women but not anymore. Glad her movie bombed, it looks horrible I wouldn't even watch it on cable.
I knew Nic's picture would be tops. He is a very good actor. So is Julia.
But, Nic always has some kind of action in his films.

I saw "Duplicity" tjis weekend and it was very good. Say what you will, Julia Roberts has great screen presence and the chemistry between her and Clive Owen is great!

Duplicity is a film that requires attention commitment and appreciation for dialogue and intricate plotting, skills that are quickly becoming extinct. Julia rules in this film.

Julia is no longer "Pretty Woman". She had lost her sex appeal. I was shocked when I saw her in the last Oceans series. She was so un-sexy and looked haggard. She needs a really good part to get back into the Hollywood A list. This Duplicity is not going to do it. I love Clive Owen but I don't think they have onscreen chemistry.

I love Julia Roberts! Just because a movie makes money doesn't mean it is good. Knowing seems like a piece of sh*t! Duplicity was a very good, satisfying and solid movie. Julia looked great and was great in it. Where is all this crap coming from? Why do we continually try and bring down some of our most beloved stars? I have paid and will continue to pay to see Julia Roberts in a movie.
