Listen To This: Going Solo!
Some of you might know Lisa Hannigan as the voice behind Damien Rice.
More than just a backup singer, Hannigan was featured prominently on many Rice songs and even given her own opportunity to shine solo at his concerts.
Unfortunately, their working relationship ended abruptly when Damien fired Lisa without warning or reason (at least according to her, in recent interviews).
Well, everything happens for a reason, and getting sacked forced Hannigan to focus on her solo material.
She's just come out with her first video (above), which is a cute, lo-fi take on her tune I Don't Know.
While Lisa may not be as gifted a songwriter as Damien, her voice is exquisite and soothing to our ears.
We could listen to her sing names off a phone book!

I'm surprised Damien canned her. I really like his music and I really like her. For those of you haters out there, you should listen to her album, it is really good. She has an amazing voice.

I thought the song lacked zeal. It was boring. However, I like her voice. With Damien, she is magical. Here, she seems flat and too low.

You're right Perez, she has a wonderful voice and did contribute a lot to Damian Rice. I just hope she gets the right people behind her now as her voice deserves the right platform.

Possibly one of the loveliest people I've ever met or interviewed. She's quite special is Lisa and has the presence and voice to prove it. Altogether a wonderful young woman.
