Hey everyone,
First off, I want to say thank you to everyone who has been coming out to the shows since my last post. The vibe at these shows has been amazing.Secondly, I have to address some behavior that has become disturbing. We pride ourselves on being accessible to you as fans, but in contrast, we do enjoy what little privacy we can muster. To that end, the efforts by some fans to find our hotel rooms, call our hotel rooms, attach things to our bus, etc., is something I have to condemn. This relationship only works when it remains healthy for both parties, and should this behavior continue, the only thing we can do is take more preventative measures to maintain our privacy, which in turn makes us less accessible to you.
I hope this doesn't come off as harsh. I merely want to nip this in the bud so we can continue to have a great experience with all of you at the shows we have coming up. Take care and see you at the next show.

The most pathetic thing about this situation is that it's not teenagers. It's a group of grown women who've left their own CHILDREN to follow someone they don't even know across the country.
David has a right to address the psychopaths following him. It's scary to have someone following you everywhere you go, calling your hotel rooms, and leaving a GPS on the bus to follow you. Especially when these people have been told to back off and didn't take the hint. He could have been a complete asshole about the situation and stopped meeting the fans at all the shows, and having these people arrested. He was being very respectful and nicer than he should have been in asking them to please chill out.
I agree that David should have more security lately. But is it really wrong of him to want to get close to the fans? To say 'thank you' to them for putting him where he is? He's a very gracious, thankful person, and these psychopathic women are taking advantage of him. He doesn't have to meet the fans, sign things, or take pictures with them. That's a privilege, and one that will be taken away if this keeps up.
To anyone who promotes Perez's antics of following David and the band, who the hell do you think you are? 'It's the price you have to pay for fame, blah blah blah' If anyone else had said what he did, you'd all be praising them for trying to maintain their privacy. Why the double standard? This isn't something to laugh about, and it's certainly not something to promote. David and the band are having their safety threatened. Being famous doesn't take away your right to stand up for yourself. You should be ashamed if you find any humor in the situation or promote 'getting all up in their grill'.

Hey Perez, just because you absolutely adore the attention that comes with fame doesn't mean everyone does. I admire his honesty and openness with the fans about their behavior. I wish some others would do the same.

I actually agree with Perez on this one. I mean the guy tried out for American Idol knowing what he was getting into and knowing what would happen to his personal life. Personally I think he's doing it just for the attention and the media, but if he wants to come off as an asshole to what little fans he has then he can go all for it. He should have taken the steps necessary to protect his privacy first instead of immediately bitching people out on his little myspace blog. He needs to get over himself fast because we all know what happens to most people who have been on American Idol, and being rude to his fans now would definitely ensure that he'll soon just be known as the "guy on American Idol".

Security was never an issue until now. The stalking fans were never a threat until recently when they upped their antics. He doesn't want to distance himself from the fans, but a few people are ruining it for everyone.
And it's not just his safety or the bands that he's worried about. These women that are stalking them are pushing the true fans- who actually do respect the guys and their privacy- in line and monopolizing David's and the band members' time. They claim they have a special 'connection' with David, that he 'seeks them out' at shows. These women need serious help. David was merely bringing that into light.
