Green Day Is Back!

Finally!
FIVE years after their commercially and critically successful last release, American Idiot, Green Day has announced that their 8th studio album will be available for purchase May 15th.
If you can't wait that long, the first single off of 21st Century Breakdown, "Know Your Enemy," will be available sometime in April.
According to an Entertainment Weekly sneek peak, 21st doesn't deviate too much from the style established in Idiot, and is even divided into three acts: "Heroes and Cons," "Charlatans and Saints," and "Horseshoes and Handgrenades."
They should go on tour with the reunited No Doubt!

And I never claimed to know everything there is to know about punk/rock music anyways. But when someone lists people like Miley Cyrus and Aaron carter (albeit this person was joking, it was hard to tell) as their favourite artists, they basically lose a lot of credibility for anything they "know" about rock or punk.
Oh and by the way Pikachu, Linkin Park is just as bad as Green Day, if not worse. But of course that is just my opinion. I could care less if people disagree with me. People have opinions too, so just live with it.

I feels ya my friend, I feels ya. There's nothing quite as pathetic as trying to sound deep and meaningful, just to have your lyrics end up sounding like some D-grade drivel a 12-year-old Miley Cyrus fan wrote for their English class poetry homework. Billy Joe Hillbilly excels in that regard.
And don't get me started about that heinously fake accent he assumes when singing…

I never said I was a punk elistist, but I can guarantee from your patently absurd comments that you know jack shit about the subject. Unlike you, I have been listening to punk music (specifically hardcore, e.g. Minor Threat, Black Flag, Bad Brains, Deep Wound) since I was knee high in the mid 80s. While I admire the inherent DIY and associated ethics of hardcore/punk, I don't actually live that life myself, which is why I have no qualms about browsing PerezHilton.com (by the way, "going on Perez is a fail in itself"??? Nice pot-and-kettle hypocrisy foolio). That said, I am totally familiar with the principles and the culture, which is why fake punk bands like Green Day more than deserve to be the subject of ridicule.
I have a strict diet of independent music (indie rock, post-hardcore, post-rock and such), but I am also extremely informed re mainstream music – which allows me to make informed comments, not ignorant generalisations like you have embarrassed yourself with. I don't know you, but regardless I can say with 100% certainty that I have a far superior taste in music to you (this is fact as you are clearly a Green Day fan), and that my knowledge of music is far superior to yours. I'm a die hard fan of quality music – the complete opposite of casual music "fans" such as yourself. Clearly you and your ilk can't take the criticism that your beloved "bands" so richly deserve – and that makes you patheticalness personified.

I think everyone should just shut the hell up! i can understand that some people have bad taste in music and dont like them but dont u dare say they suck or there seel outs etc…when u clearly know nothing about them or there backround! They make amazing music that they write about from there true feelings whitch is more then i can say for crappy music you idiots like. Oviously YOU guys know nothing about punk because punk is about being yourself…not about how much money you make. So you idiots who say they arent punk need to look that shit up.
