The Three Stooges Hit The Big Screen - with a BIG Cast!

Here's one flick we is almost a guaranteed hit.
MGM, along with the Farrelly brothers, Peter and Bobby, are almost done confirming their cast for their latest movie, The Three Stooges.
Set to play Larry will be Sean Penn and playing Moe they'd like to get Benicio Del Toro.
So who's going to play chubster Curly? Execs are going after Jim Carrey for that rule. He's reportedly intent on taking it and is already planning to gain 40 pounds to look more like the portly character.
Seriously, 40 lbs for a movie? Why not just wear a fat suit?!
The film has been in the making for almost a decade. The Farrelly bros, who wrote the script, first went to Columbia and then Warner Bros., before going to MGM and getting picked up.
We're betting Columbia and WB are going to regreat passing this up!
The movie begins production this fall and should be released later in 2010.

Why would Sean do this after spending a quarter of a century trying to escape the legacy of jeff spicoli? Why he winced at the oscars when they showed "Fast Times" footage of spicoli…..and seriously Wouldn't it be much more interesting to do a biopic of the sordid stooges story climbing up tooth and nail from vaudeville??

This sounds like stunt casting and frankly I don't want to see the stooges when they take the funny out of them.
I don't want to hear about their hard life etc. which they had, but leave the funny alone.

I think Carrey may not be big enough to look like the original Curly, even with a 40-lb. weight gain! That man has not had a cheesebuger or donut in YEARS, I'm willing to bet. Still, they may be trying to rework it in a modern way, who knows? Maybe they figured, "If everybody is calling this the Great Deprerssion, why not try some of the stuff that worked back then?" Then they have the big name stars for insurance. I'll go see it! Carrey is my fave of the cast so far.
Benicio Del Toro is an amazing actor! Swoon.
