Re: STFUP – BUELLER…BUELLER LMFAO
damn that sucks! trips my mind how we're in the same country, but where i live it's guiness world record holder for most sunshine….. makes me happy even if i need prescription sunglasses!
Yes. Best of luck from New Orleans. We know what you're going thru.
Kardassian is still a cow!
a frozen wasteland. Just like this site after Harry.
Thanks I live in EGF MN along the River. I was also here in 1997 for the flood when they evacuated the whole town of 50,000 peeps- We crested then at 54ft expected crest this time is 53ft. We now have dikes in place since so hopefully it will be a better result then last time. Until then we'll keep watching the river- supposed to crest on Sunday or Monday.
So much for "500 year flood" huh
There's no place like home…..if you're in the area, please help out as much as possible.
PEREZ! I live in fargo and let me tell you, it is getting bad! Even though the streets are covered in ice and snow, and volunteers are despereatly neede, the evil company that is Macy's (where I work) still refuses to close.
Things are NOT looking good, even as write this new information is released about river levels.
Thank you Perez for publicizing this story.
I think every person's hometown is inevitably a part of them–Fargo is my hometown and it's terrible to see the environment I grew up in and from slowly get destroyed.
This global warming thing is a bitch, ya know?!
Global warming who???
Thanks so much Perez! I live in Fargo, and it's horrible here…keep us in your thoughts!
Never commented before but really wanted to say thank you. Everyone is working so hard to save what they can and prevent the same sort of disaster we had in '97. I want to go home and help so badly…
Thank You!
Thanks Perez! I live in Fargo and we are going to win the fight against the river! I check your site daily, you rock! We appreciate any support thrown our way.
Thanks Perez!! I go to school in Mayville, ND, but I have lived in Grand Forks since the day i was born… it's like deja vu from 1997. Thanks!
~Jenna
Thanks Perez! I dont think people understand how scary its getting.
and Fergies husband is from North Dakota
there i just made it into celebrity news
thank you. Its hard. Were doing alot of sand bagging. Thanks for your thoughts.
Re: AtomicKitty – The only problem is…this flooding has been happening since the formation of the Red River Valley. The record this flood is getting close to was set in 1897. Not a lot of greenhouse gas emissions at the start of the Industrial Revolution… This isn't global warming. It is an ever present threat that the people in the region deal with every year. I'm not saying global warming doesn't exist. I'm just saying get your facts straight before you attempt to make a generalization.
Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts. As of now most of the small towns just outside of Fargo are completely under water. I have been volunteering w/ the sandbagging efforts for the past few days, and so many people have turned out to help. There is a great sense of community and an awesome work ethic that is keeping us going!
Thanks for showing the support Perez! It's so hard hearing how my hometown and college town are both going under. I wish I could be home to help! Praying for all our friends and family of all of ND! North Dakotans are tough they can make it through anything. I have to say the response to this article has a lot more postitve energy than the last one posted about ND. Thanks to those of you who know we are not all hicks and corn husking sluts as previously stated by other states in the last article.
Thanks Perez, I'm a huge fan, I check your site at least five times a day. I've been raised in ND most of my life. It's horrible what is happening here.
thanks everybody.
Re: mwfl16 –
Do your research. It's not normal to be under a Tornado Warning, Flood Warning, and Blizzard Warning all at the same time. It's not normal to have two 100 year floods in less than 15 years. Yes, the Red River floods. However, it does not flood in such an extreme manner, as it shouldn't.
I miss Fargo a great deal. LA is great and all, but I wish I were able to be back home helping out. Thanks to all of you Perez readers back in North Dakota who are doing what you can!
Thank you Perez for your support. I am living in Grand Forks, ND and right now it's looking pretty rough. Hopefully we will be prepared!
THANKS PEREZ!!!
.
.
We love you up here!
Thank you, Perez
We need it!!
Thanks Perez. We really appreciate your support. Just cause we are a little town doesn't mean we don't matter. Please feel free to join us on our sand bagging efforts, and check out the website. www.grandforksherald.com/pages/floodcam. To see a live view of the river in Grand Forks. Thanks again
And Josh Dummel is from Minot, why is he not helping sandbag?
Thanks Perez. We need volunteers!!!!!
Thanks for thinking of us - we are all praying the barriers hold.
Thanx for the thought and the love, Perez! But one thing about those of us from ND, we ARE survivors and we're one strong group of people
Huggles and luv to all who are thinking of us.
Oh Perez! Your so sweet, for giving us a shoutout!
I'm from Fargo and attending school in another state and I can't go home and help, and it's so awful watching my this happen to my hometown and not being able to do anything, my neighborhood was evacuated today! Thanks so much for your support!
I just wanted to say that I love you and thank you for thinking of us out in the middle of nowhere…North Dakota. I was here in Grand Forks, ND for the massive flood of 1997 and I'm still here. I'm definitely feeling for my friends in Fargo, Bismarck, and here in GF. I thought the next time I would see sand would be on a beach sipping pina coladas, but no such luck. I will have to stick with sandbagging and a few bottles of Boones.
Re: stephanie17 –
I know how you feel
a lot of us that don't live in fargo anymore feel so helpless. it's hard when all you can do is sit back and watch on tv / internet
Perez: Yea for posting this!! It's nice to know someone in Sunny Cali knows what's going on in the rest of the world.. Even though people say 'ND is a frozen wasteland' fuck 'em. I lived there for 23 years until my husband dragged me out kicking and screaming. I feel helpless here.. STUCK in Nebraska I should be up there helping my fellow Nodakkys!! We lost our home in the 97 flood..I feel so bad for everyone right now.. If I didnt have the three kids/job I'd be up therhe sandbagging my ass off!! Stay safe!!
To anyone who cares…PLEASE keep FARGO in your prayers!!!!! We are under mandatory evacuations all over town…Everyone here is scared but keeps Sandbagging….We wont go down without a fight!!!!!!!!!! The freaking Coast Guard has been here for days…IN ND!!!!! Send your Love and promise well send it back!!!!!! We should crest by Saturday so if its gonna Blow its gonna happen in the next 24 hours!!! Please pray that the sandbags hold!!
Thanks for the shout out, Perez! I'm in Grand Forks, which was under water in 1997 but is doing OK now. We're more worried about Fargo, which is now under mandatory evacuation advisories. This is a precaution–we hope the dikes will hold. Keep us in your thoughts.
