Candy Spelling sat down with 20/20, for an interview airing tonight, to whore out her new book and talk trash about her daughter.
The widowed mother of Tori Spelling is moving on and putting the 56,000 square foot "Manor" that she built with late husband Aaron Spelling on the market for a cool $150 million.
Candy admits that she doesn't know how many bathrooms the Bel Air property boasts.
She also admits that she would like to be a part of her estranged daughter's family, saying, "I would love to be close to my grandchildren," she said. "I'm the only grandparent that's living. So, I'm it. And — I've never even met Stella."
Speaking of her upcoming book, Stories from Candy-Land, she talks about being a "trophy wife" to one of the most successful TV producers of all time, saying, "I was not my own person. And I really didn't know that there was anything wrong with that."
It's time to move on, however, and with the house goes a bunch of stuff that Candy's been "hoarding." After watching an Oprah episode regarding, Candy says she "called my girlfriend up and I said, 'You've gotta watch this program. I am telling you, I think I'm a hoarder.'"
As a result, she doesn't mind moving, although she's "just worried about, can I pack it all up? And what will I do with it?"
But mostly what she hopes for is to "spend a Thanksgiving, a Christmas, a holiday together, and maybe, at some point, all be together always."

She was going to do this right after he died, but then people were calling her a vulture etc.. so she pretended that she wasn't going to sell the house…now that she thinks people have forgotten she plops it right back on the market. I know I'm gonna get raked through the coals for this one, but I love Candy Spelling! Call me crazy or what you will. Truth is, I even like Tori. Candy is what she is & she makes no apologies for it. But she is a helluva philanthropist & is always giving back…She doesn't keep all of her $$ wrapped up in the gift room like so many like to think. Couldn't meet a classier lady. I know the story between her & Tori is awful, but why doesn't ever get any credit for the great son she raised? I assure you that you could never meet a kinder, gentler man than Randy Spelling…He is eerily cut from the same cloth as his father. Tori is wrapped up in the media…she an actress–for she knows not what she does. But with time she will realize that the one person she despises, is the one person that loves her. Maybe not in the way that she wants, but probably in the only way she knows how. Millions of us would kill to have had or still have a mother. I hope that Tori will no longer deny Stella & Liam what she did not herself have. If Candy originally got it wrong…please give her the chance to get it right… Sorry, but when I get to preachin'-LOL

Re: Hayworth Honey – I agree! If she really wanted to be in her grandkids' lives, she's make an effort to see them. Gimme a break. How hard it is for the adults (her and Tori) to put their differences aside for the sake of the children then work on their own relationship from there.
Tori could give her an experienced hand or good advice with the 'divesting of the stuff' bit. Her garage sale was awesome, and in her usual good spirited, celebratory manner, she turned it into a cause celebre.
Also, what EXACTLY happened between Tori and Candy? I know from Tori's show she talks about wanting a relationship with her mom, but what happened to destroy that relationship, if there ever was one? It sounds like it all went down after her father past away and it's gotta be about the money.

Hello??!! can't she pick up the phone and call her daughter. It is her own fault she has not met her granddaughter yet. She should be ashamed of herself that she has not financially helped out Tori. While Tori is not hurting, she should be giving money to help out her grandchildren, if she is soo concerned that she is the only grandparent alive. Ah, thanks Perez! I wouldn't have known this was on if you didn't mention it! Here's my take on this whole thing, as painful as it is for some. People are not capable of change. And people also never get over their old wounds. Perhaps Candy's own mother was mommy dearest, and she hasn't gotten over it? And it is clear that she was very jealous of Aaron's love for Tori. Im my personal experience, I once asked my own mother why she wouldn't hold my babies or change their diapers, and she said that her own mother didn't, so why should she? Candy has her friends, and Tori has her babies. Even a million bathrooms in a mansion don't make everything perfect.

wow - i wish i could have the opportunity, ability, and desire to mend painful and mean family dynamics, even for a moment. i dreamed last night that we had just spent a magical time together, in which all the paranoid imaginings of rights & wrongs being committed vanished and people were happy & real. NO BOOZE. Then i woke up and the feeling lingered a moment, then it was gone.
First of all the "I don't know how many bathrooms I have" line is bullshit. She helped design the embarrassingly gaudy place. I think she is a sad useless woman desperately trying to remain relevant…which is a good thing. Start by actually attemting to reach out to your daughter…stop insisting that everyone kneal down to you.
Plus..what the hell happened to Randy? He doesn't even get mentioned. Maybe he is still living there too and she just hasn't run into him in a while.

Im not sure if I believe any of this…but if it is true (only God knows) then good for her. She needs to take the focus off of all her stuff and wealth and realize that there's more important things out there. Those things isn't going to keep her happy forever.
If not already, there's going to be a time in her life where she'll realize she will die alone if she keeps living that way.
How sad. Despite all of the wealth (or probably because of it), Mrs. Spelling never gets to see her grandchild - and she's the only living grandparent. Mrs. Spelling doesn't strike me as a monster, and so I have the feeling that one day Tori will wake up and wonder what the heck she's done?
