David Banda Treated Like A Prince In Malawi
Madonna is on her way to Malawi to adopt a 3-year-old girl named Mercy.
The Material Mom is expected in court on Monday.
But, in what can only be an awkward situation, Madge will be facing a homecoming party for her son, David Banda, whom she also adopted from Malawi a few years ago.
Why?
Apparently, everyone is expecting the kid to get reunited with his biological dad Yohane banda, the one that gave him up for adoption. According to In Touch Weekly, Yohane said recently, “I am excited to get reunited with my son after three years.”
He also mentioned that his hometown, Lipunga Village, has already planned a huge party for when David returns to visit. There are also plans for him to visit the Malawian orphanage where he was adopted from.
Lucy Chipeta, the director of the orphanage, added “We can’t wait for David’s return. All the children are happy to be reunited with David. We have planned a special welcoming party for him. We will take him back to his crib and reunite him with the nanny who was looking after him.”
A rep for Madge has yet to respond, though we're not sure how her Madgesty is feeling about all this.

I don't think its a good idea to know your biological mother when you are adopted at all. That whole thing stinks. Once you are in an orphanage, you are no longer that woman's child. Doubly so after adoption.

Our gopod lady of hoipe and wisdom, Madonna, is a good a example of how it should not be. If you want to be a better person-adopt a child from your country, donate money to Unicef or Red cross or whatever or get involved in your community. Madges darwinesque, 80ties behaviour ( I am a international superstar and get what I want !), is so out of fashion and a real pain in the a…thanks to her and other celebs child trade will become an even bigger business.

Children in 3rd world countries need our help so much more than kids do here in America the richest country on earth.

Re: NickyV – If you have seen the film you would realize that orphans especially those in Malawi have no families because they have all died of AIDS. So basically you would rather have them die with AIDS or malaria than be adopted by people who could give them a better life? You are DUMB.
To get this right: it is NOT a solution to adopt one or two children and leave all the others behind. Problems like AIDS and poverty are so fundamental in Africa. It is the wrong way plus the negative effects are child trade -this is serious! If you want to do something : become a member of PLAN International and support one or more kids in so called third worlds countries with donations , personal letters and little gifts. Let them stay in their country and help them there!

Well, tbh I don't like her at all..but I do hope she gets Mercy because it'll give her a better life and if her parents or sibilings are still alive they can see she is getting a better life, and the court might want to think Madonna isn't married but she's not single. Isn't she with the Jesus model dude? Anyway, she has 3 kids atm, angie and brad have 8, and then theres octo mom who has 14. I know brad and angie are married, but if madge can cater to the children, why not let her give them a better life?

I am six months pregnant right now and have decided to give my baby up for adoption..it kills me every day knowing Im giving away my baby girl but I know I cant give her everything she deserves in life..the father left me when I was four and a half months pregnant and he disappeared..if I was going to have the baby for myself Id keep her without a doubt..but because I want her to have opportunity and stability in her life I need to do it for her…i chose open adoption because I dont want her for one second to think that I didnt want her..Ive always wanted her..but I want whats best for her…

Re: calista77 – I know it's ridiculous! I don't want to hear that the kids here in the US are better off, there are many who are not. There are kids living in homeless shelters, and kids living in foster & group homes. I lived a year and a half in a NJ foster home and I met girls who have been to hell and back. Both boys and girls as young as babies are molested, raped, and/or tortured. Does this sound like these kids are better off? And you know what, kids in the USA are hardly ever taken out of these environments because of people like this. If a child isn't adopted as an infant or a small toddler they will most likely live the rest of their adolescence in the system, only to be thrown out at 18 years old. It's a fact. Now adopting kids from developing countries is a new fad, leaving the kids here more and more behind, only to be lost in the system. This is reality and it's really sad to see.
If I was her, I wouldn't take David back to Malawi. I really admire her for all she's set her sites on and accomplished and she's giving these children an opportunity to escape wretched, extreme poverty.

I'm an adoptive mom and ABSOLUTELY want my child to meet her bio parents if that's what she-and they-want. Its an important relationship that some, and not all, adoptive kids actually pursue.
Madonna's adoption is troubling for a number of the reasons already discussed and because it looks like she is able to adopt because of her money and fame and that she is 'buying' her child. There is no doubt that there are millions of children in need of a home and support to keep them with their families and she can do much in that area. Plus, I'm concerned about how much direct mothering she does with her children based on reports such as round the clock nanny care and the like.
I wish them all well though.

You would rather have THAT for the child then to be with her? People who critisize her have more of a problem with HER than the actual adoption. Re: springfan – It's insane how many parents actually PARENT their kids. I am a nanny to a 2 year old girl and I do what her parents should really be doing. All week I clothe her, feed her, read to her, teach her, etc. etc. Most nannies are the ones parenting the children and it's sad to see. The little girl I care for loves me but obviously knows the difference between her mother and I, however she also knows her mother isn't there enough for her. Now this is an everyday family, not a family in the spotlight. It's sad to know that Madonna, and many other famous "parents", actually do very little parenting. Why do you think so many celeb kids turn out to rebel and act out? Because they weren't nurtured by their parents enough and seek the love they so desperately needed. Children learn the most during their younger years; they need to learn that they are loved from the beginning. Why have kids if you know you will be away from them the majority of the time? What's the point if you're choosing your career over your children? That's really what it boils down to–what's more important, your child, or your career? She is a famous singer, I get that. But why not cut down on the world tours, the dozens of albums, etc.? This woman is set for life, why not chill out and take care of your children who desperately need you?? It's sick.

If the adoption process was fast was because she paid the GOVERMENT AND ORPHANAGE lots of money($3 milliom to be exact) NOT Johane Banda! And its not like he didnt want his kid. He is very poor and couldnt afford to raise him financially so he took him to the orphanage so they could take care of the baby and feed him there but he visited him regularly..I cant stand rude teenagers like you. uhmm if they wanted to be in their biological childs life and they were good influences (sober, loving etc) why the hell not? as the child grows he will be lucky enough to have many people who love him and he will see the reason for the adoption and be grateful for the opportunity he was given. with all that money im disappointed she hasnt taken him to see his father more often! she should attend the party and be as gracious as possible and spend a few night near the village and allow thngs to happen naturally. but, knowing IT's past behavior, shes probably already mad about not being included in the plans for the party. poor kid, gwyneth paltrow wouldve been a much better choice for adoptive mom…
