What a relief!
To recap - early this morning, we heard the terrifying news that 54-year-old Robert Dewey Hoskins, a man who was convicted of stalking and threatening Madonna, had escaped from a mental hospital in Norwalk, CA.
The LAPD were describing the man as follows:
"…A very psychotic man when not taking his medication and has very violent tendencies."
Now, we're VERY happy to report that the Los Angeles Police Department have captured Madonna's very dangerous stalker!
The LAPD announced that Hoskins was found around 9 a.m. this morning "not far from the mental facility from which he escaped."
He's currently in police custody and he's being escorted back to the hospital.
We're just glad that nobody was hurt while this man was on the loose. We're ESPECIALLY glad that he wasn't able to get close to Madonna.
Great job, LAPD! We're very pleased and impressed!

The election is over and nobody wants to hear bad news over and over again. We all know the economy is in the toilet and AIG is rolling in dough and bonuses. I think in general we're tired of the same bullshit so why bother watching the news at this point? Fox on the other hand has Republican's that are bitching about everything and anything that's going on but don't come up with a solution. I just ignore watching the news at this point unless its the local news.

Just report the news please. #2 - They are getting PAID to SPEAK CLEARLY AND ENUNCIATE THEIR WORDS. Every one of them stumbles over their words everyday. #3 - The only hour I have in the morning to watch Headline News, they air Showbiz tonight…DO NOT AIR Show Biz TONIGHT in the freakin' morning, hello! I already watched it last night, I don't need to see it again. I'm on mountain time and they air it @ 9am here. I end up turning the channel to msnbc. C'mon CNN, you're gonna lose us as viewers!!!

CNN ratings are down because the country has been so dumbed down that they can only watch shows that tell them what to think. Glenn Beck gets huge ratings and that guy is a total whack job. FOX News Sucks Cnn is Getting Very Borning. But I do have to say I like the way MSNBC is going they have always been 3rd behind Cnn & Fox and for the last year year and half they have done it right. Its just not all news which is good. They also dont have a BIG head like fox who r still smarting over bush not being in office anymore.

CNN's in a tough place. MSNBC caters to the far left, Fox caters to the right and centrist people (although polls have shown that just as many liberals watch Fox as conservatives, if not more), so where does that leave CNN? They don't really have a niche. That said, their website is the best and most user friendly around.
Too much Obama love - a little balance would help CNN tremendously.
I know I've personally stopped watching them myself and have switched to MSNBC. I attribute it to CNN's total switch in tone since the election. All they do is criticize now. That rude, nasty, arrogant CNN reporter with the chip on his shoulder at last weeks' meet the press session with President Obama is a prime example of what I'm talking about.
CNN and CNN headlines news are two different stations that have different programing — Nancy (annoying) Grace is on HL and Anderson Cooper is on CNN

well, lets see……headline news, they need a copy of the dictionary-they do not know the definition of BREAKING NEWS OR HEADLINE. that might help their ratings alot. HLN repeats every 20 minutes-you can turn off after that. and if you watch on Saturday-it is like- Octonut, Casey Anthony, someother nut and five minutes of news, and repeat. then you get to NANCY GRACE-THE SELF PROCLAIMED HELPER OF LITTLE CHILDREN EVERYWERE. she has been covering the casey/caylee anthony case since july. seems like every day. always starts -BREAKING NEWS THE SEARCH FOR A BEAUTIFUL 3 YEAR OLD CAYLEE ANTHONY MISSING SINCE JUNE, HER DECOMPOSED BODY FOUND IN A WOODED AREAD IN DEC. THE CAUSE OF DEATH, HOMOCIDE. for god's sake, it is not breaking news when you have it recorded, everyone knows about it and you run it over and over again. I can't watch Larry King and the ones on with her on CNN are basically gossip bloggers like perez here, the rest of the 'news ' on all the other stations are the same way. the 'news' has become clouded and stretched to 2 and 1/2 hours and is not the news anymore. breaking news on one channel the other day had dogs surfing. 'breaking news'???? think everyone needs that book called a dictionary to look up the words breaking, news, headline, etc. News should take at most an hour. this other crap is entertainment and part of perez's world if he would get back to it.

Fox news is tabloid media. It caters to the lowest common denominator. CNN is boring, but only because it doesn't sensationalize the news (like Fox). Fox should not be used to learn about real news, but watched only for entertainment purposes. If anyone is getting their sole news from Fox, you should be ashamed of yourself.

oh yeah, and I never quite got over how Aaron Brown got dumped after he
did such a great job for CNN during and post 9/11. Maybe if they brought him back it might be an improvement. Bring back Aaron Brown CNN!
They keep talking aoubt the same subject all the time. Let Obama do his damn job. Also Anderson keeps sucking dick so alot of female fans are turned off.
They are all biased and people gravitate towards what they want to hear anyway. Fox is very popular for two reasons, the presentation (ie more hotter women) is much better then the others and older people tend to be more conservative and they also watch more news. MSNBC leans way left and has intentionally targeted that audience. They are doing ok, but traditionally, left leaning people lose interest much faster then those on the right. They will start to fall too soon, especially as we get used to Obama and take it for granted. CNN tries to run the middle but can't really as FOX steals those viewers also, so CNN leans left, just not MSNBC style, which only leaves a small audience. Translation= they are fucked. As this presiency goes on, the natural reaction will be to the opposition gaining ground, probably rapidly from what we see now, so FOX should continue to grow while the others start to have trouble. But they will survive because when Obama loses in 4 years, or his successor certainly loses in 8, the exact opposite will happen. We aren't going to have consecutive Dems or Reps anymore, those days are gone, because they are both really the same damn thing. Morons.
CNN should have more of a variety of news programs, everytime I turn to CNN to be updated on news the only thing I hear is recession chat.
Also CNN was getting great ratings during the election, now that the election is over they need to jazz things up.

No. I couldn't be any more serious. Have you watched O'Reilly? How about Hannity? Just this week Michelle Bachmann was on the show calling for an "Orderly Revolution." Hannity sat there an applauded her as she spewed her baseless venom, without ever investigating her facts or questioning her. That is not reporting or journalism. It is entertaiment for ONLY those who 100% agree with the host's point of view. They sensationalize stories to appeal to angry conservatives. Primetime MSNBC does the same thing, except it appeals to liberals. The difference is, Maddow is a Rhodes Scholar, and O'Reilly began his career on Inside Edition (tabloid news).
Regardless they're both wrong, and should not fit under the category of news. News should be unbiased. Unfortunately, people find unbiased news boring.
I can sleep much better at night knowing Obama is President and I therefore don't watch the news as much.

That Campbell Brown is married to one of Bush's former aides, and I hate Lou Dobbs and Wolf Blitzer. Plus Dana Bash and Ed Henry are stupid. Roland Maritn is embarrassing. But, regardless, you just went ahead and supported my point even further. If Beck is ragging on anyone (Bush, Obama, Clinton), then it stops being news and starts becoming opinion.

You find O'Reilly less one-sided? There is another example of someone who claims to be independent but constantly promotes right-wing agenda. So if your only issue with Olbermann is his claiming to be real news, than at least be consistent in your critique of Fox broadcasters as well.
I don't care what broadcasters claim to be. I care that that cable news has become a circus, on both sides, and that people subscribe to broadcaster opinions as news sources. If you believe Glenn Beck is telling "the god's honest truth," then you are exactly the audience I'm talking about.

And for the record, China and Russia called for a new world currency. Obama denounced the use of a new world currency, and remarked the US dollar is still strong. So yes, I read the news. And you rely broadcaster opinions that tell you things you want to hear, and then try to pass them off as facts.
The very fact that you wrongly brought up a "new world currency" as if it was some agenda put forth by Obama (which is untrue), and that I'm somehow unware of it just because I'm calling for people to recognize that Fox news is not unbiased, just goes to show how brainwashed you've become.

I never claimed to go to Olbermann or Maher for news. My only point was that you said that (1) O'Reilly and Beck seem less biased and (2) Beck tells the god's honest truth, (3) then proclaim that Fox is more self-aware of what they are (right-wing, I'm assuming mean). Regardless of how self-aware you claim Fox is (though I disagree, it's irrelevant to my point), the audience that watches these shows believe that these "commentators" are reporting unbiased, real news and facts. It's not about what networks claim to be, it's about what they are. Both MSNBC and Fox are slanted, and audiences should not use these media outlets to learn real news. CNN bends sometimes left, sometimes right, sometimes in the middle, and is in no way perfect news either.
What is there to disagree with? I mentioned the same thing about the left-wing media too. Since when did telling people to not base their news on tabloid journalism equate to not being an independent?

Beck consistently urges people to come up with their own feelings and ideas (it would be a good idea for the others to offer some sort of disclaimer/warning as he does). I'm curious why you carry the assumption that people who watch any of these shows are not intelligent enough to know the difference between news reporting as opposed to a show based on opinions and discussions of the news?
