Decision on Madonna's Adoption Delayed Until Friday

They're keeping her waiting!
On Monday, a Malawian judge held a closed-door court hearing with Madonna regarding her application to adopt 3-year-old Mercy.
The hearing was adjourned until Friday.
Mercy's grandmother is causing a stink at the prospect of Madonna adopting the baby.
Why?????
The child is currently living in an orphanage - and has been for YEARS! A life living with Madonna and little David and Rocco and Lola would be so much better than being parentless, no??????

Instead of adopting children from different countries, why don't you donate the money that you will spend raising these adopted children to the country itself…this way you save a lot of individuals instead of just one child! You're too old to be raising kids…I hope your nanny's are young!

Madonna took her son David to a centre for orphans in Malawi which she set up through her Raising Malawi charity
Madonna's adopted son David now lives a life of incredible privilege, but today the toddler reconnected with his roots at a centre for orphans in Malawi.
The pop star, who is awaiting the outcome of her adoption bid for Mercy James, took her son to visit a school which has been built by her Kaballah-influenced charity Raising Malawi.
He waved eagerly at the young pupils as he arrived and was keen to show off his guitar-playing skills, presumably taught to him by his musical mother

I love these freaking African's who live in squalar, yet make a stink when someone with the means and heart to care for a disadvantaged child wants to open up their home sto them. Hmmm. Grandmother who DOES NOT even care for the child herself and leaves her in some shithole down the street now wants to put up a fuss? Poor Madonna. It's almost an identical story to what she went through with little David. Perhaps the Malawian courts should propose to the Grandmother that i she cares so much, why has Mercy been living in an orphanage her entire life, and why doesn't SHE take her home? Makes me sick.

Two parent families have a hard time with the adoption process. Sometimes it can take them years. Why is it celebrities can just go buy one like they are at the supermarket? And why can't celebrities stick close to home? There are thousands of children here in American that need homes. Especially kids that are not babies.

I really look up to Madonna cause she is a great human being and has done so much for Malawi by building schools, providing money, and saving the lives of so many starving children including her son David.

You've raised an incredible point about your brother's trip and poverty.
It's too bad that the people with money and means don't explore their own country's orphanages and adopt children in need of good homes. There is a culture of poverty in Kentucky, Virginia, W. Virginia and Appalachia, and the people don't get decent health care, education, housing and food. And why aren't the celebrities looking there and helping there and adopting kids, giving them new lives? And yes, if they want to adopt black children why not go into the inner-cities in the north, or the small Southern towns and put money there? Why, because it's not a "global" issue, and it won't get recognized and written up by the media. I've taught in the inner-city and seen poverty up close, and folks, it ain't pretty.
i think she would help A LOT more if she paid to rebuild their whole community, rather than picking and choosing who to take back with her. shes got enough money. its not fair. i would help if i had the money.
