To be fair, having window tints isn't exactly a major offense. I'd be more surprised to hear they'd gotten more than a warning for it.

i doubt the cop even knew or cared who he was, my best friend got let off for the exact same thing, (they pull out some kind of chart to check the tints, and his was over what is allowed by state law) plus he was playing his music too loud. The police officer just sent us on our merry way and told him to, "Tone the music down son," which of course he complied….not all cops are assholes, most are OK if you respect them and obey the law.
