Florida, Georgia, Wisconsin, Ohio and Tennessee TV Stations Refuse To Air Osbournes: Reloaded! AND MORE Ban It Too!

This is ridiculous! The show hasn't even premiered yet!
The head honchos at the Panama City Fox affiliate in Florida, WPGX, will NOT be airing the new Osbournes: Reloaded variety show.
Since when is Panama City, home to some very un-family friendly Spring Break debauchery, wholesome?????
The show was set to premiere tonight at 8:20pm CDT, with the odd timing intended to keep the viewers of American Idol watching the show instead.
But, according to the head of the station, after watching just a six-minute preview of the show, he found the episode to contain profanity and adult content and determined it was unsuitable for the time slot.
David Cavileer, WPGX General Manager, says he would have rather aired the show later in the evening.
So what's going to take the earlier time slot? That will be a wholesome and clean episode of The Simpsons.
A rep for Fox confirmed that any affiliate can pre-empt a program if it doesn't feel it's appropriate for their market.
That's effed up!
Update: A Perezcious reader tells us that at least one station in Georgia is also refusing to air the show!
Update #2: Another Perezcious reader tells us that the local Fox affiliate in Milwaukee, WI, will also not be airing the show.
Update #3: Holy cow! Yet another Perezcious reader tells us that Bill Lanesy, station manager of Cincinnati's "Fox 19" channel this morning was interviewed on a local radio show for Q102 saying that it was not appropriate to air right after the family-oriented "American Idol".
Update #4: Knoxville TN's Fox affiliate, WTNZ, is also refusing to show it as well. Simpsons re-runs instead!
Update #5: Fox 4 in Kansas City, MO is also not airing the Osbournes:Reloaded show!! They announced this morning that they will not be airing it on the 8:30 pm time spot but will instead be showing it at 1 am!!
Update #6: In Utah, Fox 13 pushed back Osbournes: Reloaded to air at 12:05 AM instead of playing right after American Idol. "They explained it on the news saying that the show isn't good to play after the 'family friendly' American Idol, a Perezcious reader tells us.

Our Fox station in Milwaukee,WI is also refusing to show the program at the scheduled time. Stating that they refuse to follow a "family-oriented" show(American Idol), with a repulsive one, such as the Osbornes! They will be airing it @ 1a.m.

Fox6 Milwaukee will be airing a live, City-wide drug-special instead of the show due to the # of deaths recently caused by over-dose! Would the show really make that much of a difference???

The banning of The Osbournes: Reloaded! is proof of what happens when the "Right Wing/Bread Christian" coalition gets too much control of the airwaves. And I've no idea if "The Osbourne's" program is dysfunctional or not. What I vehemently object to is the Government or some Religious sect proclaiming what the American public can and can not watch. If parents don't want their kids to see a particular program on the boob tube, they have the right to turn it off. If an adult is offended by a broadcast, turn it off. But let's not turn into a Communist Country where the "powers that be" tell us what and what not to watch!

Well from the trailers I've seen, it doesn't look like it will be anything I'd watch anyway….kinda looks like the Jerry Springer set will LOVE it though….makes you wonder why all these Southern stations are the ones "banning" it.
The thing is this: they shouldn't ban the show. If it's so unsuitable for families then they should air it by midnight for people that wanna watch the show. Period. If they show it at 1 am then there's NO reason to complain, people!!!!! at least they're broadcasting it.

ok… so im a panama city native… and i can explain why Panama City wont be airing the show… bc they are a bunch of stuck up rich ass sons of bitches who dont want their innocent (NOT) children watching such a horrid show… lol that was really harsh, but i have no doubt thats why. I do love Panama City though… Spring Break is always the best, and the beach is only 5 minutes away from ANYWHERE!

Common mistake made by media, but Panama City and Panama City Beach are two separate towns with separate governments and separate mentalities. While PCB may be known 6 weeks a year for the debauched bacchanalia that is Spring Break, across the Hathaway Bridge (and light-years away in attitude) lies Panama City - home to more churches than people. Word is, PCB doesn't even want the spring breakers anymore either.

I believe the bar has been lowered for many shows since "Family Guy" was able to make a comeback to FOX Network Television. COME ON, ITS THE BLOODY OSBOURNES. the show was a little awkward to watch with the scenarios they had going on….i'm hoping the future episodes won't be like the first one. i was thinking it mainly had skits???
