Hospital Staff Fired For Reading Private Octo-Mom Medical Files!

Good news for you jobseekers in Southern California!
There's now FIFTEEN spots open for employment at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower hospital. That's the hospital where Octo-mom, Nadya Suleman, gave birth to her octuplets - sparking worldwide commentary.
Kaiser has fired staff members who illegally took a look at Suleman's private files. A total of 15 employees were fired, with another eight disciplined after the computer breaches were discovered about 10 days ago.
The breach was discovered during computer security monitoring, which showed everyone who accessed the files and whether or not they had a medical reason to.
Kaiser spokesman Jim Anderson said, "This is something we take very, very seriously."
Anderson stated that it didn't seem the employees intended to sell the information, yeah right, adding that "at best we can tell there's nothing to indicate that the people looked at the records provided it to anyone else. You can only guess that this was human nature and curiosity that got the best of people."
We hope it was worth their jobs!

too bad for the employees, who wouldn't be curious (not that it makes it right to peek, but it sucks for them). At least those people had jobs and were paying for their families! Sad thing is they probably could have found out anything they wanted to know by just waiting a few days for her to blab it to the press anyway! Well, I am absolutely SURE that a lot of employees do this at hospitals and elsewhere! Not all of them are being MONITORED however. I think in the case of Octoscum I would have been enticed to do so also!
There should be some software "obstacle" in the hospital and similar authorities* EDP system I think. Really, I would have thought that this WAS DONE already - it surprises me a bit that EVERYBODY could access ALL data!
By that I mean, the infos should be categorized and classified at individual levels. I.e. employees should have access only to that part of the data that THEY need for their work but should NOT be able to see the entire data on a person! For example, the girl at the reception desk of a hospital should ONLY have access to maybe phone number and address and possible message taht address and phone No. are not to be passed on if some one asks for them over the phone. But the reception desk girl should not have access to any MEDICAL info on a patient!
The hospitals accounting clerks should have access to address data and medical insurance details but also NOT the "medical" things of a patient!
Why is this not arranged like that?
