In Memoriam

On March 31st, 1995, the life of singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez was tragically cut short when she was brutally murdered by a crazed business associate.

Fourteen years later, she still remains the Queen of Tejano music.

Her memory lives on!

Check out a lovely Selena tribute (above).

I was young when she died, but I remember it, and it was all over the news and it was sad because I knew her songs (a few of them) and its really one of the first 'Hollywood' memories I have, something big involving a star I mean. She was beautiful and a great talent and didnt deserve to go so early, especially at the hands of someone sh thought she could trust and love.

Re: throwherarock – Actually Tejano music is very much alive in deep south Texas. Her music is played and her legacy is kept alive. 99.5 Que Pasa plays her music often.
