Madonna's Rep Squashes Adoption Foul Play Rumors

Madonna is adamant on proving that she's not bending the rules to adopt little Mercy James from Malawi!
Reports are coming out of Malawi that civil society groups and human rights activists in the African country are saying the adoption could be considered "child trafficking."
Uh, what???
Could you explain that to us, please?
Madonna's rep, Liz Rosenberg, pupued the groups' allegations stating the following:
"The adoption process for Mercy began over a year ago when Madonna met her on one of her visits to Malawi. The connection was instant and profound… Madonna's desire to adopt Mercy is totally heartfelt. She is not skirting any legal issues in her application to adopt this child and is looking to provide a loving family environment and the best education and health care possible for a child who has been in an orphanage since her birth."
Rosenberg also stated that the country of Malawi has given Madge "tremendous support" regarding the adoption, including the support of President Bingu Wa Mutharika.
Of course she has support!
Her Madgesty's palace is a much better environment to raise a child in than a Malawi orphanage, wouldn't you say???

Of course it's better to be in a family than a number in a sea of lonely orphans with no future. People try and come up with all these ulterior motives for Madonna wanting to adopt and they're all BS. And look at all these "relatives" of Mercy's coming out of the woodwork now. How often have they even visited this child since she's been in the orphanage? They must smell money now. Why didn't they adopt her since she's got all this "family?"
Her place is not the best with her parading strange barely legal men in front of young kids. No wonder Rocco and David always have a confused look on their faces. She's only going to turn the little girl over to a nanny anyways. She could easily set up a fund to take care of several kids in Malawi, but she insists on making a spectical of herself because her ego tells her she is good mother because she is filthy rich. And she is turning into a mommy dearest for beating David and Rocco for playing with her horses.
I heard four fat pigs talking about this earlier when I was shopping. They (all wearing sausage casing dresses in a size 18 body) were outraged that a woman who spent her life parading around like a slut would be allowed to adopt another child. I asked them if it was OK for their obese asses to squeeze into their offensive pig skins and of course they replied that it was, since they were young. I started heaving and acting like I was going to throw up all over the place. They gave me the finger and told me to go fuck myself.
Moral to the story. Fat people are evil!

This child has a grandmother that made an agreement with the orphanage to get her granddaughter back when she was six years old as she is trying to save up money to get her granddaughter back. She didn't know her granddaughter was going to go up on an auction block. It's a modern form of slavery. Highest bidder gets the girl. Of course the government supports her. She gives them money and promises and just about every African country is corrupt.

The grandmother didn't know her granddaughter was going on the auction block.

Adoption laws are strict for a reason. Madonna has certainly found a way to do what a lot of people who adopt internationally are accused of, and that is buying a child. If we used your "better environment" arguement then most children in the USA should be taken away from their parents and given to Madonna.

I volunteer for a cat rescue charity. We have some people come in and tell us that they will want, say, -a female cat, 9 months old, white and orange and they want it now, or else. and after all, the cats are strays so they are doing a wonderful thing, so why do they need a reference. they get indignit when they are turned down for a varity of reasons, like the cats are now indoor or they have no references, or the cat hates them. Well, I will go to the next Pet.S. and find one(No they wont let you adopt either, ) We call them 'COLLECTORS' and ferrect rescue organizations, and dog res. org, and all the other animal organizations know who these people are. WHY THE HELL CANT THEY RECOGNIZE PEOPLE WHO COLLECT BABIES AS COLLECTORS TOO AND STOP IT???????? people who collect do not love the same way, that is ,if they love the animal or child at all. It is something to take out to show, put in christmas cards, family portraits, RED CARPETS, and later, to the counselling.
I really cannot stand Madonna…however, she is doing a good thing for this little girl. She is giving this child a chance in life.

She would not be approved as a candidate to adopt in America. She probably wouldn't even make the grade as a foster parent. There are good reasons why older, single, work obsessed people are not at the top of the list as adoptive parents. They are not bad parents, necessarily, it's just more difficult; especially for the child. The assumption that because she is rich and famous she can offer a child a "better" life is superficial and simplistic.

Uhm, living with Madonna might bring a thousand luxuries but what does it matter if Madonna isn't even going to be around the majority of the time to take care and spend time with these children? She might be able to live comfortably in a huge house with a lot of toys to play with, but she won't get the love and attention that she wants and needs at that age. If she were to stay at the orphanage, she would have her friends and the adults that work there to care for her, and not just a bunch of nannies. Madonna should either reconsider adopting children or her retirement. If she still wants to pretend that she's on top of her game, if she still wants to pretend that people still care for her like they did a decade ago, she shouldn't be adopting children especially those from other countries. Instead, she should stay at home and act like the mother she's supposed to be. The way things are going now, the kids might as well be adopted under the name of her staff of nannies.

it can be considered child trafficking because to adopt you have to give a donation which means someone is getting money for this child… the problem is that sometimes parents or relatives are coersed into giving up the children…. which is unethical and is child trafficking… some ppl think that its better to give donations too the commuinity to help build schools and things then adopt a child and take it away
