The Real World Keeps On Going…and Going!

Does anyone still watch MTV's The Real World?

Apparently it still has somewhat of a fan base as the series has just been picked up for another FOUR seasons. Oh, and they'll also be producing more episodes of The Real World/Road Rules Challenge.

Jon Murray, Real World's exec producer, said the order of extra seasons will help the show's production team out creatively. Adding, "This allows us to plan. It helps us figure out where we're going next and allows us to do some long-range thinking."

MTV programming president Tony DiSanto stated that "MTV is proud to continue our relationship with Bunim-Murray that stretches back over 15 years. With each new season, the 'Real World' franchise continues to evolve and captivate our ever-changing audience."

Only a few changes have been made to the show since it premiered in the early '90s, such as the Brooklyn season, which didn't feature any of the cast members having to get jobs. Murray added about not assigning jobs, "It's something I've been wanting to do for a while, and it's easier to do in a big metropolitan area. The season after Cancun, a location that hasn't been announced yet, I think might be like that too."

Will Real World still be around 20 more years from now? Do U still watch it?

      I still watch it (though there are some seasons I've missed, like Las Vegas) but I have watched it since the first cast. As much as I like The RW is as much as I don't like Road Rules (whatever it's called). Never been abel to get into that show in any way.

      these people actually have real troubles and lives unlike most celebs (ryan's iraq problem, sara's problem with her father and childhood, katelynn's gender change, jd's struggle with his family, etc.)

      I totally still watch the Real World and I am probably way too old to be doing so. I have watched the show religiously since probably the third season, but have seen every season. I did like it better when they actually had people that had REAL conflict, like people without open minds. Usually now they throw a gay person in and figure it's controversial. I think there's many more people in the world that would benefit from this type of experience and learn how to not be racist or prejudice against sex orientation or race. Keep 'em coming I say…the challenges too…those just are my nightly soap operas really!

      Yep..I love The Real World. So sad to see it's over tomorrow. Ryan was also my favorite. The rest of the cast were kinda boring. This season to me was quite tamed compared to other seasons I've watched. There wasn't much action this time around, just a lot of talk and arguments about nothing.

      I still enjoy it, I just hate how it's gotten more "get on RW just for fame." Sure they are in real situations and many are relatable, it just seems they don't even hide the fact that they want to sing and act (Devyn) and be a show host (Chet). I liked it when they had to do jobs they didn't really like and had to actually DO things. They had very few assignments this season, very few times they had to work together.

      I also love the RW/RR challenges, but how can they continue having those when there hasn't been a RR season in like five years (and no, that lame cast pick RR doesn't count.). I guess I'm just addicted to the drama.

      I love the real world. Except the cast this season is somewhat annoying. They try to use their intelligence to overpower each other, but it's in an arrogant way and I'm not too sure I like it. But I love the real world. I wasn't able to watch it last season because I was slacking in school so T.V was at the bottom of my list of priorities.

      This recent cast has gone back to the Real World roots. They are not actors. It's real people, with real dreams, and real issues. It isn't drugs, alcohol, and sex…..we got some real folks this season and I thank MTV for taking us back to basics.

      Ryan and Katelynn are some great folks.

      i actually liked this season…I was surprised…sure most of the guys are douche bags, but I liked it for the most part…the last few have been awful, but this one wasn't that bad….oh and I LOVE the Real World/Road Rules Challenges…they need to bring back Rachel, Veronica, Coral, and Shane!! They rocked it!

      That show sucks. I stopped watching it when I was like 14. When I realized how pathetic those bitches are. They only act out because they are on television.
      Sometimes I forget that show exists, but then you have to go and bring it up.

      Yes, I still watch it. A lot of people still do. The Brooklyn season is the best one since the Chicago season and I find it similar to the great San Fransisco season of 1994. It's sad the finale airs tomorrow but I cannot wait for "The Duel 2" to star on April 8th!

      prez, we still watch and we were in our early 20's when the first epi premired. call us old, but call us cool. kids and what not can't keep us away. kids never see it as you can catch it in rerun status in the off hours. i must say this season for a 40 something was probably one of the worst. but still good….

      i forget to watch the real world sometimes, seriously. I'm caught up on a lot of school work, errands, personal time, and im caught up on other channels that sometimes have a good show or movie playing. I'm definitely excited that MTV is still going to do more seasons of it, though. I think the Real World is probably one of the only good shows on MTV, they need to keep this running or else MTV is completely going down the gutter. People already hated MTV since they got rid of their music video playing, and now they just got rid of TRL!
