The Real World Keeps On Going…and Going!
Does anyone still watch MTV's The Real World?
Apparently it still has somewhat of a fan base as the series has just been picked up for another FOUR seasons. Oh, and they'll also be producing more episodes of The Real World/Road Rules Challenge.
Jon Murray, Real World's exec producer, said the order of extra seasons will help the show's production team out creatively. Adding, "This allows us to plan. It helps us figure out where we're going next and allows us to do some long-range thinking."
MTV programming president Tony DiSanto stated that "MTV is proud to continue our relationship with Bunim-Murray that stretches back over 15 years. With each new season, the 'Real World' franchise continues to evolve and captivate our ever-changing audience."
Only a few changes have been made to the show since it premiered in the early '90s, such as the Brooklyn season, which didn't feature any of the cast members having to get jobs. Murray added about not assigning jobs, "It's something I've been wanting to do for a while, and it's easier to do in a big metropolitan area. The season after Cancun, a location that hasn't been announced yet, I think might be like that too."
Will Real World still be around 20 more years from now? Do U still watch it?

Yea,i was a MAJOR fan back in the day…then missed a few seasons,but picked up when Vegas came out. Must say this seasons very good. Ryan good luck while in Iraq!
This season has a GREAT message to all those out there oblivious that we are in a WAR and that young people are loosing their lives everyday or getting injured, there lives being desecrated! It brings to light that these are REAL PEOPLE fighting over there, a war w/no meaning or reason. Poor kid has to go back over there when he already did one tour and it just shows how EVIL BUSH IS and how he is going to rot in hell for killing innocent people for greed and profit.
I do. Devyn (sp?) was a douchbag, IMO. And the blond mormon guy while semi-talented as an interviewer, is full of himself. Liked the rest of them.

the real world rocks!!!! each season is different and the rw/rr challenges with the former castmates are even more awesome…it's keeping reality tv where it should have stayed, and not the BAJILLION knockoffs that came after!

The RW is one of the only shows I watch on MTV anymore! I agree with most, Ryan is the best this season, I feel so bad that he is being shipped off to Iraq again :'(… it's going to be heartbreaking for his girlfriend who hasn't gone through it yet. I swear they should just make our military out of prisoners, they like to fight anyway!!! As for Chet, wtf is he going to host on MTV?! They do not play music videos anymore! They even got rid of TRL which sucked b/c they didn't show you the entire music video and talked through the whole thing, but that was all they had left of music! MTV has gone FAR downhill!!!
This season was BORING they need to have a job, even if it was like that dumb comedy job the other season had. Also the girls are whiny and annoying this season, this coming from a girl!

Somehow in some way I'm still watching it. I don't like none of the people in this season. The guys and girls are all assholes. The Tranny is nasty, heshe admitted that heshe had a 5-way. They all are so childish and stupid. The Hollywood season was way better. There was so drama. I love it.
This season was one of the worst, in my opinion. I still find myself watching it, though, I guess because there's nothing else on TV. My faves would have to be New Orleans, Chicago, and San Diego. And I've thought about this…why haven't they done a Real World: Atlanta yet?? It's one of the funnest cities to be in. That just blows my mind.

Love the show. That poor guy that's in the millitary is a great talent and broke my heart on the show.

What happened to the Real World is sad. It was once a show that reached out and touched the audience. The hell that Pedro Zamora went through brought AIDS into our living rooms and gave it a face. That show was once a mirror, showing us our flaws as a society.
Then it changed, now it's 7 good looking people hooking up with each other and every one they can. It was once great, now it's fake drama filled with sluts, idiots and boobs. Now that I think about it, it's still an accurate representation of young America.

You are pathetic. Ryan as well as everyone else in the military joined themselves they were not FORCED into the military. Ryan himself said that he joined after 9/11, he knew that he was going to have to go to war. So he voted for obama thinking that he wasnt going to have to go to war again. Where is the liberal outrage for obama sending troops to Afghanistan instead of Iraq? So Ryan was right, he doesnt have to go back to Iraq he has to go to Afghanistan (which is worse).
Open your eyes this war was not for the purpose of President Bush making profit. This country has plenty of oil to last us. You dumb ass liberals dont want to drill here. Are you going to bash obama as you have done President Bush for sending the military to war?
Actually I do watch and I think this Brooklyn setting was one of the best. Some raw emotion certainly surfaced that rarely emerges from most reality shows.
freakin' love this season. hope the next four don't suck. mtv, please make the real world more like this season. people who aren't all about sex, and more about getting to understand each other. thats what's interesting. getting to see young, innocent kids understand different walks of life.

i luv luv luv the real word! It's such a huge part of MTV. I can't see them canceling the show and if they did I'd be so disappointed =/ ….what they do need to cancel though is the rr/rw challenges! ugh! i hate those.
I love the Real World still. This was actually the first cast that wasn't completely ridiculous. The first season where the cast members got along for the most part but still accomplished much growth. There was a transgendered on there that probably had a huge impact on a lot of people's ideas about gender and sexual orientation.
It's still a great show that keeps the youth of today connected and sane… sometimes makeing you feel that you're not alone with your crazy self.
Perez.. its not really a show for your age group anymore… NO OFFENSE! Seriously, I love ya Perez but I don't think I will care much about the real world when I'm 31 :/ But for now I'm 22 and I can still relate with the people on the show.
I love the real world i was more in love with this season than any other because of Ryan(army guy) and they had no crazy physical fights.
