Team Bridget all the way. I was shocked when I first read that statement from Gisele; feel how you feel about it, but that is NOT your child. At most, he is your step-child. You can be motherly, but that doesn't make you his mother. Then to say that she 'respects' the mother/son bond is a contradiction, because she really doesn't if she's going on like this in interviews making Bridget seem like an 'occassional' mother. I kind of see where she's coming from - she wants to let the world know that she's good to the child and treats him well - but maybe she needs some sort of translation because she said it ALL WRONG. Furthermore, showing that to the kid is enough. She doesn't need to run around town talking about Bridget and BRIDGET's son to prove it. When you do a nice or kind thing, the last thing you should do is tell the world because then you just look like a moron. LAME.
It seems to me Bridget got the best prize of all - her son John Edwards. She's going to eventually make peace with Giselle because let's be realistic - Tom and Giselle are going to have their own kids. It's going to get complicated. They'll work it out for the kids if their really adults.
Also, it's obvious that English is not Giselle's first language. She was not objectifying Bridget's son - she was expressing her love for a child that she did not give birth to. Honestly, I would be delighted if the stepmother of my child loved my baby as much as I did.
I think there are a lot of possessive and possibly jilted people there who hold on to grudges but we'd all be better if we just accept things and move on. Being bitter is not going to attract a new man - I know a lot about this! It's all about getting on with it.
