Freshly appointed official "Stepmom" Gisele Bundchen made the statement of the century in the latest issue of Vanity Fair regarding Jack, the baby boy Bridget Moynahan and Bundchen's new hubby, Tom Brady, had together - and Moynahan's pals are not pleased!

Said Bundchen, "I understand that he has a mom, and I respect that, but to me it's not like because somebody else delivered him, that's not my child. I feel it is, 100 percent. I want him to have a great relationship with his mom, because that's important, but I love him the same way as if he were mine."

Moynahan's inner circle is fuming over Gisele's statements on behalf of their friend who has decided to keep mum over the issue!
"Hey Gisele — real mothers don't call their kids 'it," a chum spouted off.

Moynahan's friend continued ranting, taking a much deserved jab at Tom!
"If Tom is such a great father as everyone likes to say, then you would think that he'd respect the privacy of his young child and would ask his wife not to use his son as a publicity prop and a subject of public discussion."

Giselle is Brazilian and even though she's pretty much fluent I am positive that she never intended to call his kid "it." Things get lost in translation. Additionally, Brazilians are just like that, accepting people, she is definitely thrilled and wouldn't be married to him if she didn't want to be and wouldn't have said that about his son if it weren't true. She isn't using the kid for publicity, has it been considered that maybe a reporter asked her a question about it?

Her statement was either a genuine attempt at inclusive magnanimity, or they're setting up for a future custody battle. Take your pick. I thought it was mostly kind, and an attempt to show balance and generosity. I do know, though, that any statements about the child or bio mom are not really hers to make. They are Bridget's, or Tom's. If someone else delivers him, (and carries him, and nurses him, and gets up 24/7 with him, and does the lion's share of childcare, by the way…) he's not your child. You can love him, but he's still not your child. He's your step child. For some reason she felt a need to put it out there; the press can be rough, and can leave parties feeling unfairly demonized.

I think that they are just being petty now, English is not Gisele's first language, she probably didn't mean it the way it sounded.
