To celebrate the expected adoption of Mercy James Friday morning, Madonna is throwing a party that the people of Malawi will never forget!
The staff of Raising Malawi, family of Mercy James, government officials, and teachers will be throwing it down at the Kumbali Lodge tonight, Thursday, with Madge & Co.!
Entertainers for the soiree have been popping in and out of the Kumbali Lodge all day including a traditional drummer who told reporters, "We are very excited."
Will Madge make a surprise performance at the big bash???

I just read an article on MSN saying they rejected her application to adopt Mercy because she has not been a citizen of Malawi for the required 18-24 mnths. I guess no new accessory for Madonna. boo hoo. ;[

You're late as usual Perez, the adoption got declined and Madonna must be throwing a fit! Malawian people are so stubborn and unreasonable, whats the use of holding on to a child you can't take care of?
Which ever way she is getting the children out of the orphanage, the Malawian people should be glad that there is someone who is taking care of their orphans because clearly they can't.
This little girl has been living an orphanage since she was born and its been 3 years now and the "noble" Malawians have not found a home for yet and they are refusing her adoption by Madonna, they claim "welfare of Mercy will be better served if she grows within the environment of the culture of Malawi"
What culture?? Suffering???I suppose its culture in Malawi to have children and then put them in an orphanage, I'm sorry but their culture is stupid.
Someone in Malawi should really think about the children right now, they don't need culture, they need a home and a chance at a good education not an orphanage.

Madonna has done much for these people. She is not taking the child from a loving home. This child has nothing and will be lucky if she lives until 40. The judge has robbed Mercy of a loving family, a good education, proper housing and basically of her future. Too bad if they don't like Madonna's wealth. She worked very hard for years to compile her wealth, it was not handed to her. What a selfish judge!
