Sony Pictures needs some new ideas - badly!
During a movie industry convention, Showest, yesterday in Las Vegas, Sony revealed its love for trilogies.
The studio is working on releasing Men In Black III and Ghostbusters III.
Seriously, MIB 3? Is that really necessary?
Ghostbusters we're totally feeling. They should have released that movie years ago!
Can Sony still afford Will Smith's salary for some shitty trilogy and would he even consider it? Or maybe just produce it?
No screenwriter has yet to be hired for the flick.
As for Ghostbusters, it's obvious the original gang consisting of Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd is too old to be fighting the paranormal. Instead, they'll return to mentor a new crew of Ghostbusters.
What's next, Back to the Future, IV?

I disagree. Just don't make the movie period. I don't want a classic series like Ghostbusters "Twilighted" with girly boys.

Loved the first one! Second was good but not the same level as the first. If they do it right then yay, if not them meh! I'll go and see it anyways to see what it's like
sequels usually suck and end up going straight to dvd or failing at the box office. I think 1 and 2 were certainly enough
For once I agree with you Perez. MIB 3 is completely unnecessary…and desperate. Ghostbusters 3 and Back to the Future IV would be awesome; although with Back to the Future you have to wonder as to whether Michael J Fox (who I love btw) would be able to do it.

Lets take this a step at a time. ONE: Will Smith is epic, no matter how bad the movie is. He's one of the finest actors ever. But I do believe that they're making MIB III for money-making purposes. The first one was great, the second one was good, but three might be going too far.
As far as ghostbusters III, I think it would be awesome to have the original cast. Especially in their old age, they can show that old guys still know how to suck up ghosts….AND ACT!!! It won't be the same without them no matter who the cast would be.
last, if there was a Back to the Future IV, It would be the most epic movie ever. I would love to see that…..and BRING BACK THE UNIVERSAL RIDE!!!!
I liked MIB 2…and Will Smith is such a talented actor I'd see him in pretty much any movie.

Re: starmix18 – There have been rumors about Back to the Future IV, but nothing's gone beyond the screenplay stage. That said, the general idea is that BTTF IV would follow Doc but not Marty.
Remember, at the end of BTTF III, Doc has has a time-travelling train while Marty has nothing but the wreckage of the Delorian. So any sequel would be more likely to involve Doc (and maybe the children he briefly introduces — grown now?) than Marty.
Personally, I'm just wondering if the producers are waiting until 2015. Who needs hoverboards when you have iPhones?
Re: starmix18 – While Michael J. Fox probably lacks the stamina to star in an action movie like BTTF IV, I'd be surprised if he didn't at least do a cameo. (the fans would demand it) He could even play a role throughout the movie if it wasn't too physically demanding (perhaps a character who's often seen sitting).
