geeeeeeeeeeez ya know I have lived in Iowa City and NYC and both were equaly liberal and progressive..its annoying seeing people shit on the midwest all the time… ya know it is full of some of the most liberal smart peops i know.. and from what I have experienced of Cali .. smart is not one of the things I would immediately conclude…so peops should stop comparing Iowa and Cali

They will amend their constitution just like so many other states have, including California. The majority of people want this gay marriage shit to stop. You can have civil unions–you're not getting "marriage" so STFU.

Actually "STFUP"…. Iowa has one of the largest gay population per capita in the United States. So I quite believe there are more than "two" people there celebrating this new marriage right.

It amazes me that people make assumptions about other states and they don't even live in or have never been to. Make your assumption once you've seen the state for your own eyes.

The capitol of Iowa is Des Moines for those of you that don't know. It's like a little Chicago, has the best employment opportunity in the insurance field, and Wells Fargo trusts the people of Iowa to handle most of their call center operations and they are doing quite well.

Just because the state of Iowa doesn't have a lot to offer scenic wise, it does in other areas.

Also, to the individuals that think by saying they don't 'support' gay marriage…no one is asking you to support anything. Mind your own business. No one has to 'support' you to do what you want, right? If you want to look at a red corvette you don't go and ask for support just to look at it. Get a life.

Yay!!! Equality is spreading! I really can't believe it's taking this long for everyone to be equal, but still it's spreading, so hopefully more states will agree to legalize gay marriage!

I'm surprised you only gave this a one line entry. Regardless, I'm so geeked. I grew up in Iowa and am shocked at people's lack of understanding of the great people that make up the state. It's my opinion that Iowa realizes there are a billion other issues worth spending time fighting about. Let's move on… just like Iowa.
