So maybe Nicolas Cage isn't doing so well financially, but at least he had the peace of mind to invest in some real estate.
Sounds like a solid backup plan!
After selling a castle in Germany to a wealthy attorney recently, Cage is unloading more properties, including homes in the Bahamas, Nevada, California, Rhode Island, and Louisiana.
Situated in the Garden District, the New Orleans house boasts "six bedrooms and grounds that include a heated pool and statuary…graceful lines, marble fireplaces, plasterwork, stained glass and curved staircase are elegantly preserved."
In 2005, Cage purchased the house for $3.45 million.
It's now on the market for a cool $3.7 million.
That should help tide him over.

Wonder if it's his super-creepy haunted mansion in the French Quarter! We did a walking ghost tour when we were there a couple of weeks ago and one of the stops was a house that he owns where previous owners did medical experiments on slaves. They said he never stays there and talked about its haunted history on Letterman or Leno or something.

I've been to his home in New Orleans. It's a very historic home and is said to be haunted. Nicholas has actually only stayed at the home once. What a waste of $3.45 million. It just stayed locked up…no on ever used it after he purchased it. Hopefully someone will purchase it and do something really cool with it!

Yeah, we should all be so broke, lol. Wild conjecture based on selling properties is not journalism. Finding an actual bankruptcy filing and being the first to report it, is. Reputations should not be fcuked with merely to fill a page on a slow news day. That's just lazy. There are enough real hard stories out there that it never needs to happen.
the house is in the french quarter, and he's never even spent the night there. it's known as the LaLaurie Mansion, and is the supposed site of one of the city's most horrific crimes. There's lots of stories about previous tenants experiencing some serious paranormal encounters, and it's often pointed out on french quarter ghost tours. it's a gorgeous property, but not worth the extra 300K, since he hasn't done squat to it.
