It's Getting Serious!

hj__optpost.jpg

Big wigs over at 20th Century Fox are taking major action over the leak of X-Men Origins: Wolverine that snuck onto the internet earlier this week!

The studio has enlisted the services of the FBI to find the culprit!!

Fox released the following statement Thursday regarding the investigation:

"Last night, a stolen, incomplete and early version of X-Men Origins: Wolverine was posted illegally on a website. It was without many effects, had missing and unedited scenes and temporary sound and music. We immediately contacted the appropriate legal authorities and had it removed. We forensically mark our content so we can identify sources that make it available or download it. The source of the initial leak and any subsequent postings will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law – the courts have handed down significant criminal sentences for such acts in the past. The FBI and the MPAA also are actively investigating this crime. We are encouraged by the support of fansites condemning this illegal posting and pointing out that such theft undermines the enormous efforts of the filmmakers and actors, and above all, hurts the fans of the film".

Whoever stole that shiz is majorly screwed!!!

In the meantime Fox execs are implying scare tactics to stop the mass seeding of Wolverine, spreading rumors that the file may contain a virus!

Nice try, fellas.

MIAR and Jigsaw…First off…fuck off. You two are the most gullable, semi-retarded narcisstic people on this site. Your feeble attempts at being popular on a stupid celebrity blog site make me sick. These are the reasons I target you. Because you are lame human beings and suck at life. And MIAR…you are such a baby….you responded to fake Alice last night like you put in some hard day at the office of Perez Hilton blogs. Nobody really cares about you…nobody really even knows you outside of your clicking fingers and stupid comments. So go stick that big black dick in your mouth…because that is the only thing you are really good at you poor, fat, conceited trashwhore.
I hope you die of ass cancer

GOOD! The loser who lives in his parents' basement responsible for leaking this is about to GET FUCKED BY THE LONG DICK OF THE LAW!!!

Anyone on here saw it? Heard it ain't much of a summer blockbuster.

    13. 13

I HATE THAT SHIT. This is why music sucks now, cause noone can sell an album. I'll never watch or download pirated shit. I'd be lit if someone came in to my store and put my inventory on the net for free. GET A JOB AND PAY FOR MOVIES, OR GET A BLOCKBUSTER CARD.

Re: stars101_sezMadonnaTheApe – Us Americans…. ??? Is that really necessary?

Re: Tom Sturridge – "GOOD! The loser who lives in his parents' basement responsible for leaking this is about to GET FUCKED BY THE LONG DICK OF THE LAW!!!" You're awesome (and not just because you're RPattz's best friend. Lol.) because this comment had me laughing hard for the last couple of minutes.

I am still going to see it in the theater.
Going to be one of the best movies of the year.
This is the end of downloaded music or movies on the Internet.
      Thanks jackass who did this.
They are going to prosecute the crap out of anyone who downloads anything now.
This idiot messed with some serious money.

Perez - this is OLD news! PITNB had this info YESTERDAY! Get with it! You are slacking off and half the stuff I read on here is almost a full day BEHIND PITNB. I think you are letting all the new celebrity status get to you and you are letting your loyal readers down.

I'm off to go read PITNB - perhaps you should consult him to get up to date info!

    20. 20

I'm still going to see it in theatres… even though they've ruined Deadpool in it…
he could have been so awesome, perfect actor for his sarcastic ways… but noooooooooooooo they HAD to pull an X MEN 3 and go completely against the comic…
      siiigh.
      oh well.

and holy, drama blog a bit much! wow.

      .

    22. 22

      what good publicity! …..hmmmmm….

    23. 23

it's a little naïve to assume it was done with ftp's, servers IP addresses and ISP's in the US. I would imagine anyone who would do something like this - on this big of a scale with potential massive repercussions would be doing this using resources outside the US.

For instance, ISP's in Canada, most of Europe and Asia don't give a toss what you upload or download and US law can't touch it.

      Virus, LOL!

    24. 24

Also, it's not "The End" of downloading music and movies, it's perfectly fine and legal in Canada (so far) and movie theatres and music stores are still raking in the $.

I don't really care if I can easily go download Wolverine, I'm still going to see it in the theatres. What can I say, I like popcorn ;)

      25

haha yeah!! i love that stuff like this can happen to movie studios. Its total anarchy….. not going to make so much money on the release of this movie now, are ya? Suckers!!

    26. 26

I started to dl it but I'd rather see the complete version. I was going to see it anyways.

    27. 27

i watched it last night and it didn't have any virus, yes some of the special effects havent been computer generated in yet and the wires that help the actors fly around are not edited out yet but its still a great copy of the movie.
people will still go to the theater to see it,its not like this is the first movie to get leaked onto the web, just the highest profile movie

    28. 28

Stars, of course it would have had to be someone working on the film… or a super-cool-ninja-cat burglar… with lazer beam eyes!!!

They could have easily (snail) mailed it to their Canadian or Korean cousin, or given it to a visiting friend to view because it was cool, then *poof* internetz. I imagine anyone working on this movie would have been heavily briefed on the seriousness of leaking it to the public, so they wouldn't just go home with it and upload it using their home IP address.

    29. 29

I SAW THE MOVIE THE OTHER NIGHT, ALTHOUGH IT WASN'T FINISHED WITH ALL THE SPECIAL EFFECTS, IT WAS AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

I WILL STILL GO SEE THE FINISHED PROJECT, BUT I LOVED IT AND HUGH, AND THE OTHER ACTORS WERE AWESOME. SABERTOOTH…GAMBIT… IT WAS JUST AWESOME.

    30. 30

CHRIST ON ACRACKER he is flipping hott

    31. 31

Seriously… there is NO way they can stop this now. Whoever leaked it had balls, that's for sure, but if you check any of the torrent sites there's about a million different versions of it out there. And just TRY to track the p2p network, it's not as easy as one might think. The original leaker will probably be caught (since it was obviously an inside the job and they should be able to track THAT down at least) but prosecuting the following uploaders is just going to be impossible. Plus, for people who live in countries like Canada where it is not illegal to download they did nothing wrong if they simply downloaded the file and did not seed at all. Fox is screwed now.

Btw… it's not that great. I was entertained but I think it was mostly just to do with the shitty/unfinished special effects (at one point the words "Claws Grow" appear on the screen with arrows pointing to Sabertooth's claws — it was golden) and not the actual movie itself. It will, however, be interesting to compare the workprint version with the finished movie when it comes out. That, I am definitely looking forward to. But if you want a laugh check it out, the unfinished effects are very entertaining to watch — my brother and I had many laughs at them. Seriously, some of the helicopter scenes, and the fight at the end… it was all just a hoot to watch.

I already saw the movie but i'm still gonna go and see it in theaters!

    33. 33

the movie stunk anyway. they re-wrote his origin as if he is the freakin' highlander. Wolverine is not IMMORTAL!!!! Oh, and he is CANADIAN. Why would he be fightin in the CIVIL WAR?????

    34. 34

I actually saw the movie online. It was o-sum.

    35. 35

Good for FOX..they have every right to protect their property.

    37. 37

"It was without many effects, had missing and unedited scenes and temporary sound and music. " of course 20th century Fox would say that so the downloaders would still watch it on the big screen…
