Miley was AMAZING! sounded amazing. She has a vocal range unlike Taylor swift who only sing low so her voice won't crack.

Are you freakin' kidding me. Taylor and Miley were the absolute worse performances of the evening. She is beautiful and a talented writer, but singer… I think not. Her lower register is horrible. With all the money these girls have…they are in desperate need of vocal lessons.

I'm at a loss as to why this girl is considered "good". Every time I've seen her perform live, she sounds AWFUL! Terrible performer. Plus, she always looks like she's about to burst into tears. Zero stage presence.

7. Taylor Swift's "You're Not Sorry." OK, so the performance hasn't even started, and we have to deduct an automatic half point here because Swift was introduced to the stage via a David Copperfield magic trick and Pop & Hiss is strictly anti-illusionists. Nothing really country about this tune, as this is pure ol'-fashioned power ballad. Swift doesn't have the strongest voice, and she's better rocking out than singing at a piano. A backing string section, however, kicks in to save her from having to hit any high notes. After the performance, Swift gets an award for selling lots of records. At first, it seemed like an impromptu little thing, but Swift had an acceptance speech at the ready. C. (But if there had been no magic: C+)

Interesting justtfax, but that reviewer also graded Heidi Newfield's performance a B-. Which really shocks me considering she looked like a drunken moose, but hey, don't take my unprofessional word for it.

13. Miley Cyrus' "The Climb." Would have been a little better if Papa Cyrus hadn't introduced Miley's Nashville bid with a flurry of release dates for "Hannah Montana" and Billy Ray products. Nevertheless, "The Climb" is an A-list ballad, and Miley's wise-beyond-her-years' rasp goes a long way in selling this tale of determination. She seemed to sing it a bit careful, striving to hit her notes rather than go all out, but a massive string section landed at just the right moment. B

Okay, I'm sorry. But after fully reading the reviewer's notes from last nights show I have to say they have lost absolutely every shred of any possible piece of credibility they ever had. If it existed to their name in the first place. They graded MILEY CYRUS, who to be honest, did not even belong there, above Carrie Underwood. Absolute bullshit. You cannot even compare these two women together mostly due to one major reason. One of them has real talent and she's not sixteen.
Hm. Interesting. So Perez here is being accused of getting paid off to rate this performance in such a way when this reviewer rates the performance of "The Climb" by Disney's most profitable bitch Miley Cyrus higher than Carrie Underwood.

Okay, I dont watch many award shows but i did watch last night, and am kinda wondering…Why did they chop everything up on performances? Like this song…theres soo many verses cut. I mean they took out like, 4 hours for this shit, youd think they let the damn girl sing a 4 minute song

She sounds terrible. This is a joke, right? That she was "easily" the best performance? If that's true, I'm glad I missed it. I really want to like this Taylor Swift but she is not very good live. Wasn't it last year that she was on the same awards show and Perez posted it…had all that rain and water coming down on her. That too, was a terrible performance. Prez, you need to have your ears checked, your taste in music SUCKS.
I really like Taylor but that was just okay. That trick at the beginning was just weird and lame. I feel like she will musically stay around for a while but I feel like she will only stay pretty until about 25. I mean she looks like she is late 20's now and she is only 19. I don't think she'll age too well so it'll be interesting to see what happens. I love her songs though so… go taylor

There is no way this was the best performance. I like her a lot but the girl cannot sing live. She was flat and her voice cracked the whole time.
Ummmmm…oh, really? I had Nashville musician friends and friends-of-friends watching and in the audience (they were nominated) and from everything I heard, they were laughing and shaking their heads at Ms. Swift's performance. There were PLENTY of great artists performing and blowing the crowd away. Somewhat surprisingly, most counted Miley as one of the tops. Sorry, perez, I know that's hard for you to admit.
I love Taylor Swift. She is such a good role model for young girls, but she wasn't sounding so hot! Some of the other performers sounded off too. Probably just nerves!

Best performance? Well, maybe better than Rascall Flatts and Brooks and Dunn. Wait…I guess if we are judging in these categories, you'd be right… circa 1980's over-emoting, being able to sing horribly off key, being overall forgettable…yes, she would win.
While I give this girl some respect for writing her own music and being a decent role-model…that's where it stops. Singing live is NOT her strong point. Miranda Lambert, LeeAnne Womack and even the dreaded Carrie Underwood blew her out of the water last night.
I somehow doubt the show was even watched, but eh…whatever.

No Sugarland, Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum were the best performances of the night..hands down! Even Miley's was better than Taylor's.
