Coldplay Fights Back!

In a US federal court, Coldplay has denied any similarities between Joe Satriani's If I Could Fly and their hit Viva La Vida, fighting Satriani's December copyright infringement lawsuit.
Adding arrogance to douchebaggery, Coldplay also claimed that Satriani's piece "lacks originality" and should therefore receive no copyright protection at all.
But Satriani's lawyer said that Coldplay's response is typical and that he felt like the situation could have been handled without legal action.
What he meant to say was Coldplay's response is typical of someone married to a wet sock like Gwyneth Paltrow.

I have heard both songs and they sound JUST ALIKE. Coldplay is good but very overrated. And Gwyneth…well, that's a whole other story.

Okay, anyone who knows anything about music and has listened to the two songs can tell that Coldplay is 200% true in their statement. An easy riff like that can't be stolen, lol.
Next, Perez-love you normally-step off. If I had just finished putting as much effort as I'm sure Coldplay put into their last album I'd be pissed as fuck at being accused of creative theft too. They aren't wrong to want to squash that accusation-and quickly.
Lol, they're not saying Satriani's song lacks originality as an insult or out of arrogance. They're asserting a legal defense. Songs need to be "orginal" as legally defined for a copyright to be enforced.

No they haven't, and that chord structure isn't a stock 'generic" one that is used a lot in pop music. That is WHY Satriani has a case. And to all of you jerkoffs that whine about him just wanting money, you're going to be eating your foot when Joe wins and donates it all to charity.

Who knows if they stole it. I like Coldplay, they're great. However, Satch is one of the premier guitarists of all time. He really doesn't need the money. Even though he doesn't sell a lot of records, he could tour forever and make enough money, or hawking instructional material. Satch as a guitarist is way better at his craft than Chris Martin is at songwriting. Coldplay just should settle and shut their holes.
