The Hills Ratings Drop!
It's a good thing reality TV "actress" Lauren Conrad decided to leave her hit show, The Hills.
Unfortunately for MTV, Monday night's fifth season premiere dropped in numbers from last season's opener!
This episode managed to average about 3 million viewers. That's a 15% drop from season four.
Season three got almost 5 million viewers!
Monday's show did have the highest ratings among females aged 12-24 on TV that night. The ladies still love the dramz!
MTV execs claim they have yet to decide if they want to continue the show without LC.
But just ask frienemy Heidi Montag what she thinks MTV should do.
According to half of Speidi, she says about Lauren, "We'll miss her. I just don't know if we need her. She's gotta leave the dramas to the pros! I love The Hills and I definitely don't want to go anywhere anytime soon. That's my home and I'm so grateful to be on it, so we'll see."
And there you have it.

I really don't know if I would watch or not… Probably not… in either case… It seems too much like forced and created drama now. It's not "reality". They're just actors now… They always kind of were… but now they're REALLY just actors.
Plus Heidi is pretty irritating, IMO.
I do wish that Heidi and Spencer would stop with the "fakey" Twitter entries tho!

It was HORRIBLE! I'm 28 though so I'm not quite in the 12-24 category they're aiming to please. They need to do a montage over how fake all the ugly heifers on that show have gotten…Audrina, her boobs, and horse teeth; Heidi, her horse teeth, boobs, plastic surgery, and HOrrific extensions; LC and her stuck up ass…WTF! I just can't take it! I'd rather watch The City any day!
I loved that show during its first two seasons, and now it slowly makes me more and more stupid with every episode I attempt to watch. It's honestly the most painful show out there. Ew!

I won't watch one Lauren is gone. She keeps it grounded for me. I couldn't stand week after week of Spiedi drama, make up, break up, get married, get unmarried. It's to much BS for me.
I don't watch it cause WHITNEY is gone… she was the most normal person on that show. LC is a basket case.
Heidi needs the show ’cause she doesn't have anything to fall back on…..no career, no degree, she does have Spencer- so there's that.

I've loved Lauren since I first saw her on Laguna Beach…the show wouldn't be the same without her, and I def could care less about Speidi AND Audrina…so NO, would never watch without Laura!
I don't watch The Hills, but isn't Lauren like the queen bitch there or something? So yea, if she leaves, I would say it will impact the show.
To me LC is the show…if MTV wants to give speidi their own show thats kool whatever but it should be called something completely different afterall when Whitney got her own show they didnt keep calling it The Hills…Heidi and Specer are wacked, they dont seem sincere about anything. One last thing Heidi CAN NOT sing!!!! idk even know why people entertain the idea that she is a "real artist", it makes me feel like Im taking crazy pills!!. When I saw the that Spencer compared her to Beyonce and other talented performers it was the stupidest thing I have ever heard come on!!! she will never ever ever be anything close to Sasha Fierce. I have watched the Hills since the beginning and I have to say this new season's show was painful to watch. Heidi crashing Lauren's B-day and the shit with Spencer was sooooooooo lame! WTF was Heidi "shaking" about…give me a fucking break! Audrina and Lo being friends now…so fake and unbelievable. Won't watch a "Spedi" spin off show…can't fucking stand them!

You can just tell that LC doesn't want to be there anymore. And NOBODY wants to here anything more from Speidi. I wish they would have been off teh show looonnng ago. Just watching Spencer makes me siskc and how brainwashed Heidi is, is just as sickening. They need to realize their 15 minutes of fame is over. lauren's real life wasn't on that show anyway so having her face appear on tv was a sham. she kept her real friends, real boyfriend, real EVERYTHING off the show… so what does she add? nada. they've all admitted in interviews that when the cameras aren't rolling, they do NOT hang out.
to contrast, speidi don't have a real life… they don't do anything unless there is a camera nearby to film it. does lo have a life? who knows… more importantly, who cares? she's a bore. audrina is shopping her own reality trainwreck… so bring on the hills, part deux, "the speidi show." we all know that's the next chapter.
maybe MTV will put an ad in Variety and scout some BFF's for heidi. yay, at last, some friends!!! at least when the cameras are near.

I'm guessing a big reason for the viewer drop was probably the NCAA championship that was going on at the exact same time…
I just think it's kinda funny that Heidi thinks she's been owning the show. First of all, if it weren't for Lauren, Heidi wouldn't have been on the show in the first place. Lets not all forget who the main character is. Plus, i wouldn't be too proud for the fact that you're famous because of douchebag boyfriend drama .

This is what I don't understand. If people could grasp the concept that the economy is shiteous right now and keep it in mind when reviewing ratings like these, it would help ease their mind. I can't AFFORD cable right now. So I don't even get to watch ANY shows. But if I did, I bet I'd watch the Hills because I'd having nothing better to do with my life..

It keeps getting faker and the acting sucks! Spencer is a tool, Heidi's hair is so over the top (she is a walking fire hazard with that synthetic crap and all that hair spray), Audrina thinks she is soo great with her "fame" and LC has given up. Her make-up is shit, her tears are not over the created drama on the show but the horror over the fact that this is what the show has come to. And Lo is just riding the wave but is a little late to cash in. I'll TIVO it so I can fast forward through the bs and watch the show is like 5-7 minutes. But sadly, LC is the show b/c everyone else is just pond scum! I'm over it!!

you do know that nearly every television show can be found on the internet for free, yes? mtv.com runs full episodes of the hills and i believe, all their shows… as do most network websites. if you can't find it on the network website, there are countless other websites like hulu… and of course, there's always youtube.

I Love The Hills!! I'v watched LC since Laguna Beach.. Maybe the rating wouldn't go down if they just got rid of Speide, and just focus on LC. The priemere was amazing great drama, did Heidi give Lauren a Chanel bag?.. I would not watch the show if Lauren left..

their story lines don't go anywhere interesting. it was washed up last season.
I'd give it a try just to see if they can switch it up a bit! ya never know until you try and this show is "cheap" to make. From a business perspective MTV is still getting hign numbers in the viewers they want.
