Trump Explains Kardashian Firing, Tough Stance On DUI
Is Donald Trump a hypocrite? Or a beacon of tough love?
In the latest episode of The Celebrity Apprentice, the Trumpster fired Khloe Kardashian upon learning of her DUI, telling her that if he had known prior about her arrest he would not have had her on the show in the first place.
But, hey, that seems a little contradictory considering how the Trump let Miss USA Tara Connor keep her crown after her problems with booze were exposed!
In his blog, the Don defends himself saying that Tara "had just entered celebrity, which was a new arena for her, and these contestants have already had professional success as well as celebrity."
We're not really sure what planet his logic comes from, but if that's what he feels he's gotta do to "protect people from themselves," then alright.
Although, to be honest, that sort of logic sounds like it comes out of a bottle!

I'm so glad Trump feels that he should protect people from themselves…how about protecting women from the abusers he has on the show? Actor Vincent Pastore was a participant in the first celebrity apprentice and a guest on the second one . Mr. Pastore plead guilty in April 2005 after punching his girlfriend in the head, grabbing her hair and throwing her out from his car. … Rodman has also been charged with assaulting a woman. I do not condone drunk driving but why was the Kardashian girl fired for her past mistake and the men allowed to participate until they were fired for performance issues.
Are the celebritys informed before the show that they may be fired and humiliated for things they did before taking part in the show? If it is all that important to Mr. Trump to have only guests of high moral and ethical fiber to be a part of the show, why aren't they subject to criminal record searches? Its not hard to find criminal records of celebritys..i did it in minutes.

It's very simple. Khloe didn't do her community service as part of her 'bargain' with the court. She KNEW that she would only end up spending an hour in jail, and of COURSE the TV cameras would follow her and her family. DUI isn't what it used to be — people were ashamed that they brought a conviction to their family. Now… it's a way to the red carpet and news headline heaven. Especially for someone like Khloe who's always gonna be in the shadow of her other syster's butt. It's really a shame that using her father's death as an excuse to drink; but it goes further that she used her jailtime as a way to expand her so-called "15 minutes of fame" for her reality show.

While a DUI is serious and I've read that his brother suffered and ultimately died from the effects of alcoholism, there was no need to humiliate Khloe on the show the way he did. Moreover, his moral superiority was really off-putting as he was an adulterer - having his mistress and later wife #2 confront his then wife publicly. And Dennis's antics were okay? The icing on the cake - the drunken antics of Tara Connor that he so staunchly defended. Come on. He really stepped in it this time.
I think Trump regrets the decisions he made on Tara, and he's doing what he should have done with Tara with Khloe. Good on Trump. Khloe made a big mistake driving while drunk, and getting fired showed her what RL would have been like if she wasn't an effing D-list celebrity.

He should have fired clint. everyone on the team said so. so now, he fires someone because of a pre-existing dui? he never even gave her a chance to explain about it, or redeem herself. but yet he gave dennis chance after chance to redeem himself. i just don't think he liked her, or wanted her to be on the show, and it was a cop out.
Did tara conner get a DUI? If not, then I understand Trump's decision, although his statement made no sense. An alcohol problem is different than a DUI. Not all people who drink a lot get behind the wheel and drive endangering millions of lives like Khloe did.

Theres a huge difference between what Khloe did and what tara conner did. Tara was endagering her own life, but no one else. As soon as khloe went behind the wheel, she was putting someones life in danger. Anyone who had a family member killed by a drunk driver knows that it cant just be left off as, oh well it was just a mistake. She should have to live with the consequences far more than just get thrown in jail for 30 minutes. If it takes being embarassed then so be it. By the look of her show, i doubt she learned anything. Its about time that one of these celebrities get something said to them.

I think Trump fired them for ratings reasons–the Rivers have strong personalities and drama makes a better show, so that's why he kept them. Whereas even though T-boz is a Grammy award winning singer, she isn't very vocal otherwise, and her teams never used her talent for any of the tasks, which they should have. She sort of stays in the background. And Khloe does too. I applaud Perez for saying it like it is though, especially after he was on the show!
