Jian Ghomeshi is a great interviewer, he was very cool and handled the situation very well because he has tremendous skills, has interviewed a lot of people, some great talents not widely known, some real celebrities in the sense of artisty in what they do, not like this PENDEJO. I feel sorry for the members of his band. He is known mainly for being Angelina Jolie's ex.
By the way, Jian is also a musician, and "Lights" manager, and a very smart guy!

Man.. why go off on Mr. Thorton… first he made it clear that these issues were not to be talked about. From a band member's perspective it's fantastic in that Thorton wasn't going to tie up the interview with stuff that was irrelevant to the band's work. Sure he's famous but in the terms of their band that has no bearing and he respected that. In my eyes he was looking out for his band mates and if you notice they were given alot of mic time because of it. Had he submitted to the interviewer's lead it would have been all about his past and the band would have had no voice what so ever. Kudos to Mr. Thorton and fuck the interviewer for being such an ass about it.
Imagine, Obama is in a band after his presidency and his publicist tells the interviewer not to bring up the presidency because Obama didn't want to discuss it but would rather talk about the music. Then the interviewer tosses it all in th bin and says "fuck it, I want obama to talk about what I want". Who would you perceive the asshole to be? Me, well i'd have to say the interviewer.
Dude it's a goddam music show focus on the music. I would have rather heard more from the band then watch as this punk tries to force Billy Bob into a discussion that was off limits.
what was billy bob thorton on??? he was a completely rude prick to the interviewer but i don't think ALL of it was purpose, i think a lot of it was genuine confusion and annoyance in response to the interview questions, due to lack of sleep (they did say something about it being 6am) and drugs.

Jian Gohomeshi was and is a complete gentleman. I don't know how he kept his cool throughout this dibacle, but hats off to him. That cracker-jack faux hill billy cocksucker needs a reality check - why would anyone give a shit about his band if he wasn't an actor? If Thornton is so dedicated to his musical craft, he might have had more consideration for his band mates! (Didn't they look miserable????) WOW. I thought about buying that album….until now. Good luck BBT, I bet I'm among millions of fans resigning after this.

The worst part? Billy Bob was completely disrespectful to his fellow band members. He was trying to say that he wasn't the focus, but guess what? He made sure that he was the focus and embarrassed them - did you see the guy sinking in his chair? Seems like he is upset that he isn't respected as a musician. You can't whine to gain respect. People respect you when you do a great job - it shouldn't be for acclaim. Music historian my a**.
The interviewer is a putz. It's well known there are do's and don'ts when it comes to negotiating interviews. He didn't follow those guidelines and Billy Bob called him out. It's not like he threw a punch at the guy for Christ's sake.
