Bruce Springsteen Reaffirms His Devotion To His Wife
Somebody be lie-telling!
Responding to some dude identifying him as the "other man" in divorce papers, Bruce Springsteen turned to his personal website to issue a statement reaffirming his devotion to his wife of 18 years, Patti Scialfa.
Says The Boss:
"I hesitate to use this website for anything personal believing it should remain a place where fans of my music can come free of the distractions that occasionally arise with the rest of my job.
"However, due to the unfounded and ugly rumors that have appeared in the papers over the last few days, I felt they shouldn't pass without comment. Patti and I have been together for 18 years — the best 18 years of my life. We have built a beautiful family we love and want to protect and our commitment to one another remains as strong as the day we were married."
Either The Boss is spinning or the other dude is crazy!
We're sure the truth will reveal itself in a messy bloodbath!

I suspect this is a revival of the same infidelity rumor from a couple years ago. Maybe there was truth in that rumor, and Bruce and Patty have since reconciled. Maybe it was a bald faced lie.
Either way, Bruce and Patty were together on stage last night in Houston, singing songs about how much they love each other. I'm inclined to side with the Boss on this one.
I love the man, his music and his social activism, but the fact is that Patty Scialfa became pregnant with the Boss's child while he was still married to someone else.
Watch out for them Jersey boys.
They've been married a long time, but their adultery from all those years ago is going to come back and bite them both in the ass. It always does.

Well, it's hard to know the truth, but cheater's tend to reoffend, so it's certainly not impossible. See, this is one of the reasons why you don't want to cheat; for most people, you'll always have the equivalent of the scarlet letter on you. He's already proven he doesn't respect marriage, so we'll believe anything…

Yes, all professional musicians and athletes love their wives dearly. And I believe in the tooth fairy, too. Springsteen is putting a spin on a sticky situation.
Re: eloradee – Well, not exactly. A Springsteen rep today said Bruce stands by his comments from a couple years ago. Whether the affair happened or not, the couple have clearly reconciled. There was no tension whatsoever on stage last night.

He cheated on his first wife Julianne with Scalfa, so why wouldn't he cheat on Scalfa with this other chick? He wants his cake and to eat it too, i.e. have a wife and kids while still getting strange when he wants it. He's a superstar, he can do what he wants and the hoochies, wife included, ride or die!!!!!
Maybe he did find his true love with Patti. Only time will tell. Rumor has it that his affair with Patti started while the then-Mrs Springsteen, Julianne Phillips, was in France, filming " Fletch Lives",with Chevy Chase,and supposedly Bruce was on the phone to Ms.Scialfa way often,and for way lengthy convos. Perhaps innocently ,but who can say? To Phillips' credit,she has never made any public statement about their marriage,to my knowledge, either positively or negatively,nor did she go the route of the Redbook/LSJ " my new life" angle (without explicitly mentioning the ex).
Phillips was paid millions not to talk.

I agree with Girls about the smoke/fire. This is at least the third cheating rumor Bruce has faced in the past two years. Is everyone else making this up? Eventually you have to figure that since this keeps surfacing Bruce must be doing something to "fan the flames".
